Dear Tempura,

Auto-aim and melee homing in CB is such sheer cancer.

Having all this autoaim again in CB2 is no good.

Manual aim still best.

>> No.13040986

>>13039612
Removing autoaim and replacing it with manual aim solves over half of the gameplay problems in CB. Some of the power creep could have been avoided with manual aim.

The rest is about bots that set absolute upper limit to abilities in the whole game so no newer bots should have become more powerful than those limits.

Right now CB2 is basically S4 League wearing a different skin.

CB2 has a hard time dislodging us from Kancolle if only because Kancolle is not pay to win and not pay to not-grind.

Funny thing is, auto aim is influenced by how your bot moves in the original game and what arm you're using. Idiots don't know how the mechanics work, so people with fast and agile bots cab abuse the fact and perform better because,
1: Idiots can't aim.
2: Idiots still can't aim, even after 4 years.
3: Idiots can't aim.

Cancerous auto aim is from shits like Homura which throws out bullets even if they're looking in the opposite direction, or homing alphas. Whichever has the least amount of effort. On the other hand, bots like Initone have the shittiest of aims which require more effort to make use of, but pays off.

For normal bots, there's a difference between someone who aims ahead of the enemy VS someone who tries to keep the cursor on the enemy. The first person is pushing their bot into a position where it only has to do minor adjustments (the auto aim) while the second person's bot is continuously trying to correct the aim because it's actually lagging behind.

If they truly want to make CB2 work, they'd give more movement options so it becomes a superior version of GUNZ.

People in general suck at CB. I wouldn't be surprised if people suck at CB2 too regardless of the aiming mechanics.

Rant over.

Thanks, insider. (Shitty is a given if you work for Cyberstep.)

1) You d-bags are asking for money from a extremely hostile audience, the same people who should have been Cosmic Break's biggest advocates. What do you have to prove that Cyberstep has learned its lesson from CB1 and is not out to screw over the players with garapons full of blue balls at four buck a pop and unbalanced fagbot releases every month? Because if you've got nothing, pack it up and go back to Tokyo because CB2 is over before it started.

2) What is up with the braindead Kickstarter rewards?
*Why a physical game CD? CB2 is a MMO, not a single player game, so a CD is completely worthless.
*You actually expect people to pay $20 for closed beta access? Good luck with that. I can count the number of people on 4chan who would fork over any more money to Cyberstep on one hand.
*Where is the in game currency in the rewards? If it's just "Thanks for kickstarting, asshole. Fork over some more money when official service starts while you're at it.", then FOAD.

Characters move slower than untuned bots in the original game, but some bots move much faster than their old counterparts. Boost run does some weird shit and makes you faster than everything.

I gave up on Cosmic Break entirely when the first wave of "Zero" girls were introduced: Eris and Resha.
Although in retrospect the Sugoi garapon and introduction of Aquilla Girl/Toybox Girl was where the balance and gap between free and paid players really took a nosedive for the worse.

FUCK "zero" types for messing up the type trinity.
FUCK the garapon and if you don't see why I'm saying this then go die of cancer.
FUCK the fact that the only way to stay competitive is to vomit money into said garapon, pray for [RO] Cube events or save up that dollar's worth of RT you get every month..
FUCK the fact that moebots were objectively superior to the robots in 95% of situations unless you funneled obscene amounts of money and time into the game.
FUCK overpriced RT.
FUCK p2w shit.

The EU beta for CB was the best time I've ever had with CB because there were no moebots post-Lily Rain EVE I think and everything was obtainable using easily-obtainable UC so there was lots of diversity in the arena.

I am mad. Grrr.
I will keep an eye on this game but it will likely just be another kusoge. Thank you OP.

It's like you didn't actually play CB. ZERO was just a title slapped on to signify that there were different mechanics at work with these bots compared to regular ones. Resha and Eris were considered LND units, so they took extra damage from beam weapons just like any other LND. One of the later ZEROs, Kagura, was considered an ART, so she took extra damage from melee attacks. And so on and so forth.

I don't actively play much these days; someone else could probably give you a better assessment of where the meta is today.

So what exactly happens? Are these new bots capable of beating any outdated bot in a single hit and then they make a newer bot that can target a group of the old bots and kill all those in one hit?

>> No.13086212

>>13086185
Nah. Basically, the best bots nowadays have the same amount of damage potential, but better options. A good example is the difference between my Diana and my Homuhomu - they can basically kill things at the same speed but Homuhomu has better escape options, can execute combos with her weapons and inflicts more status effects.

Fuck free to play. That works for the shitty Asian puzzle and card games that barely require any server at all but does not work for something as intensive as a MMO FPS / TPS like CB.

Charge a flat $10 a month for access to a low-lat server or $1 for a weekend pass. People who can't afford the cash can grind offer walls. New players get a 1 month free pass but can't trade stuff unless they pay for at least one month's access so that alt's can't be farmed as much. People who don't want to pay get put on a single pub server with a queue system and limited missions / quests. Give out free weekend passes so that the non-payers can see what they're missing.

Anyone can have any bot or weapon but they have to grind for mats to get them. Want a really good bot? That'll take a ton of grinding. Charge a couple of dollars for drop multiplier tickets that last all weekend. Some player has money and doesn't want to grind at all? Have a cash to UC exchange, at a much higher rate than the current one, and just buy the mats from someone.

Charge for cosmetics: skins, special effects, ACs, voice packs, etc. that bind permanently to the bot once used. Make sure everything's cheap, cheap, cheap. Nothing should more than 50 cents.

Every step of the way, make it reasonable and painlessly small for each individual purchase and watch all those individual purchases add up. That's easily enough monetization to pay the bills.

>>13085838
For TF2
1) There is no central MMO style lobby server so Valve doesn't have to maintain it.
2) Valve doesn't run the actual game servers. The players do, which cuts out an enormous machine and bandwidth expense.
3) Valve actually does a reasonably good job of balancing the game and isn't reliant on new releases to bring in money. Cyberstep's model is to power creep their way out of old balance problems into new balance problems.

What the fuck is wrong with your computer specs?

2 gb video memory card? What the fuck is a video memory card. Why don't you call it a graphics card like a normal person? Why would you just say " 2 gb" without saying which graphics card it is?

16 gb of ram is overkill; that's what you get for 2k+ computers.

i7, but which one? i3, i5, and i7 tells us practically nothing. There are new i3 better than i7s.

How is your computer a toaster that can barely handle CB? You can literally run CB at max settings with a 400$ piece of junk.

You probably have a i7 4690k(or more) with 16 gb of ram if you're on a desktop. Maybe an i7 2670QM if you're on a laptop.

Why would you even get an i7 processor and 16 gb of ram then not buy a good graphics card?

Like, you already blew 300$+ on a cpu and 120$+ on ram, why would you only throw 60-70$ on a shitty old GTX graphics card?

All those poorfags still grinding the offer wall and mate missions daily say otherwise. So does FF XIV, games that have rental servers like TF2 and MC, and, yeah, EVE Online, among others.

Cyberstep may be the scum of the earth but they are right about one thing: money needs to come monthly in to keep the lights on. No payfags, no CB2EN and that's guaranteed to happen unless C$ can come up with a system that is going to grab and keep them interested over the long term.

That is the most lulzy part about the idiots commenting in the Kickstarter. If Cyberjew actually had learned any lessons from CB1, they would have done something to, like, actually fucking *FIX* CB1 by now, but nope.

The meanest thing anyone could possibly do right now is to nicely encourage the Kickstarter donors to sign up for CB1 to get a feel for what CB2 will be like. If any of those scrubs actually played it and found out how crappy it is and how C$ is doing absolutely nothing to clean up their act, they're going to figure out damn quick CB2 is going to be the same way. What do you think is the most important arena ranking in current Cosmic Break?

I'd say score is the least important, because you can just feed to inflate it or just let your team get killed while you leech points from afar without really contributing at all.

I haven't played much the past year or two, but frags then damage. Frags should be top because that's how you win.. damage next because that's how your team gets frags. I guess the only problem is that this ignores killing Power Spots.

>> No.13104058

>damage next because that's how your team gets frags
Not necessarily. Most high damage scorers rarely do significant damage to one foe unless they're just melee crowd diving. Usually, they'll just pot shot everyone from afar and keep doing this without ever really engaging in the battle or helping the team. That's why you always see these guys with hugely bloated damage scores when their team loses and they'll have a cost of 0 or something. They were just sitting to the side while their team was getting bodied.

>> No.13104144

>>13103685
No single ranking, more combinations of 2.

High contribution with 0 cost indicates either a hopper or lag AIR that massively distracts the enemy team then actually escapes. Lag melee also massively distracts, but they're flat out suicidal more often than not unless they have a tool for escaping such as Eris's Cloak.

High Score Frags, being able to dive an enemy healspot and gank starred players or crowns can win matches.

Support to actually good players with high score/frags/contribution. The stars and crown system I always thought was extremely good at keeping BP even except for really heavily lopsided teams. Being able to keep your stars and crowns from dying can contribute more to victory than killing 5 of the suckier players on the enemy team. I've certainly seen crown costs high enough for that.

>> No.13104159

>>13104144
I almost agree with this, but I think it's a combination of 2 + your overall Cost and whether your team won or not.
