It's going well. I feel like my comprehension is getting worse and worse as the semester goes on, but I'm used to it by now since I've never been cursed (blessed?) with one of those super slow paced teachers everyone else seems to get for some reason. Not too sad about it though, usually this is when I learn the most without realizing it. Like a lot of other people, Kanji is still my biggest hurdle.

Signed up for N3 in July. I'm good on 漢字 and 語彙 thanks to daily reps, but 文法 could use some work. I don't think I'll have problems passing. N2 in winter will probably be impossible though, so I'll aim for that next year.

I had some Japanese pen-pals over the summer and started to get really good at stringing together Japanese, then my contact dropped with most of them and I've forgotten almost all of it by now. Hurts man

It's coming along alright. I try to do at LEAST a little every day. I sometimes struggle remembering a few of the characters for hiragana and katakana because not many of the words I've learned have used them yet, and kanji's coming along nicely. 日本語は楽しいですよ！

The only downside is that I don't have any conversational partners that're on regularly and I have noooo idea how to get any, so I'm limited to solitary self-study. I do the best I can with what I've got, I guess.

Try lang-8. It's a great site with a really friendly community.
Look for the skype groups (http://lang-8.com/groups?keywords=skype).). You'll find many Japanese people trying to learn english who will talk to you in Japanese in return.
I tried it a couple times and it's been mainly a positive experience so far. Calling a total stranger and having a face to face conversation with them is kind of weird, but you'll get used to it.
