After Dengeki Hime very sadly was discontinued, I found myself to Tech Gian... I haven't gone through all of the February issue yet, but it seems basically the same as Dengeki Hime, but with a mysterious DVD included, instead of those fun gifts like dakimakuras, folding fans, posters, fibre cloths and other random things. As I searched for it the reseller, I found that they make what seemed as a similar magazine named Tech Gian Brilliant... but all the first magazine I went through had was lists of released games. I thought it was a special version of Tech Gian, and bought a whole four different issues of it. =_=; Seriously, how can they charge so much for this magazine, if this is all it is...? 2200 to 2500 yen for just lists of released games. :/ There were three discs included with the first magazine I checked, too, though.... do they contain fun stuff, or should I just keep the disc sleeves unopened, so I can maybe sell them in pristine, new condition? Perfectly pristine and even cleaner than as arrived, by the way, in case someone finds it dishonest to sell as new. Not that I see who'd buy these.... =_= I guess this is a magazine for bishoujo game resellers in Japan, or something of that sort... meh.. :/

I'm actually more disappointed of having got uninteresting magazines than having wasting money and shipping on these... I thought I would get one regular Tech Gian and four special releases of it, plus the final issue of Dengeki Hime.... instead I just got two magazines that were interesting, it seems.... =_=

Get out

Huh...? Get out... why, exactly, if I may ask?

I live in Japan and read lo every month, but I'm leaving soon... are there any services for shipping lo back to the states? I don't care if it takes a long time, but I don't want customs ripping into it, which is highly unlikely.

Tech gian has or at least used to have a section where they review shitty dlsite games that I found pretty funny.

>> No.12946729

Ok, whatever. I thought /jp would be the place to ask what might be on the magazines, but apparently not. I remember now why I only ever use this place to check out fun images...

Isn't it strange how some people need to be so excessively impolite, just for the sake of being so...? One wonders how this world could be if people could skip this routine.

Maybe one day we can learn to be as awesome and humble as you are, oh honorable Tomoko-san.

Not that guy but you're asked to get out because of your use of emoticons.
It's not a matter to me but emoticons are usually frowned upon in /jp/.

Oh... thanks for the information. I did see that mentioned in the first magazine....

Oh, why is that....? I think they can be quite appropriate to show one's view on a matter spoken of...

Correction: *"what might be on the magazines' discs", I meant to say, by the way...

Grow the fuck up already.
Or are you one of those autists who can't get social cues even from emoticons?

In English they make you seem like you are very young, not serious, or mocking someone. However, they are useful for chatting over the net in languages like German or Japanese.

Although I entirely disagree with it, I'm considered to have autism, according to today's inherently flawed findings from research in psychology. According to what generally is considered to be autism traits, I have it, yet I personally use emoticons all the time. I will use it again, too, if I post here, again... don't care if it's frowned upon. I'm used to being disliked... have been all my life. Also, fitting in is not something I aim for, so skipping emoticons, due to some unwritten rule, is pretty silly....

Anyway, just wanted to say that so-called "autism" is not necessarily always autism, nor a reason for those with it to be unable to interpret things that should be easy to interpret. Just a bit annoying when people sometimes use the label of autism as a way to declare someone as mentally challenged.

So... does anyone know what usually is on the various discs...? I'd much appreciate it - would prefer if I didn't have to open the sleeves, if it's just boring stuff on them, anyway. I'm sure it says in Japanese, in the magazine, but I'm not very good with that language.... -_-

>> No.12946886

>>12946877

Really...? Why is Japanese and German okay, though...? Now I'm interested.

My native language is not English, by the way, so I guess I can keep using them without issue, then. ^^ And I'm not all that young, either...

Just not on /jp/ though. People can be quite harsh about it.
Some emoticons (like :3 or ;_; or ;_;7) are actually used here with almost no issue though, but I guess it depends on the context.

Man you sure do sound autistic.

And probably this ^o^

Again, emoticons are mostly discouraged. People may use it ironically though.

Just sounds better. It can also be difficult to tell with which sort of tone someone is speaking with in those languages, if you're typing the way you would on the net.

>> No.12946984

Nevermind - I guess I had too much wine, yesterday, while checking it out, heh. -.- Upon further inspection, it seems that the discs contain videos, CG's and music files. The third disc is possibly a game. I guess it isn't a useless magazine, after all, even if the magazine itself is boring (or the first, anyway). Most of the contents probably is stuff I'd never find, if I hadn't bought the magazines, so I guess it's good, after all.

>Tech gian

All those eroge magazines are worthless IMO. The only thing I like about Tech Gian are the covers. Love the art. But the content is very lacking. The other magazines don't even have this luxury. Other than a handful of interviews, you are better off browsing the internet for eroge. Simply not worth it.

If you are looking to collect porn for whatever reason, then get anything but magazines. The only instance I'd think it'd be worth buying those magazines, is if they offer an exclusive demo/preview of a highly anticipated game that you just can't wait. Otherwise nope.
