Well Holy Shit, that was pretty fucking intense! And kinda creepy too, also i BAAAAAWWED nearly at some parts.

Ryuukishi07 has said the accurate number of episodes has not fixed yet but it would be 6-8.

EP4, the last question arc, will be released at next Comike at December.
According to his diary Aug 28, he was struggling about how he should move pieces(characters) interestingly.
Probably he has started writing now.

He usually spends 1 month for plotting, 40-50 days for writing and 40-60 days for drawing and editing.

Now people who have finished EP1 can understand why Higurashi fans hated Higurashi anime.
Imagine that EP1 being compressed to 4 anime episodes, by cutting sentimental scenes and changing complicated feelings into crazy faces.
How will they be crappy pieces lacking many important things?

Umineko's story is strongly serial than Higurashi.
You can never read chapter N before chapter N-1.
It means that they have to release it with the same structure, a non-branching sound novel.
But console world will not accept such type of sound novels("it is not a game!" or something), so it will be almost impossible.
