Right-wing activism is one of the cornerstones of otaku culture.
The current state of the Japanese entertainment and media industry is because of a healthy dose of protectionism in staff, casting, content and storytelling style. The early otaku communities had strong right-wing, anti-Korean opinions, and these people defined what we today know as "otaku culture".Without them and without their opinions, the Japanese media sector would look like the American one - a colorless slurry of political correctness and foreign-sponsored attempts at yet another cash cow franchise. Even European movies tend towards being just American movies in another language - no independent style and no national identity.
Nationalism is how Japanese media has avoided this. Staff, casting, creative direction and content has been firmly domestic since the beginning, and that is why we have what we know as "otaku culture" - that is, what this board is made for discussing.
Even now, the Japanese patriotic right wing is inextricably entwined with otaku culture. You can dislike the right wing, but the burden is on you to prove that it's not relevant to the board.

That's toeing the line of playing mod, which can get you banned too. In practice, you'll often get banned for just preaching rules to others, since it reduces board post quality, so cross your fingers.
