Probably not. I like System Shock's because of the unobtrusive storytelling and the feeling of paranoia and isolation it gave me. If you made it, if you wanted to keep some of its strengths you might have to do something like have map movement for finding logs and descriptions of enemies and your encounters with them or something. Or make it Dead of the Brain: In Space.

Also the first SS and its shodan are better.
