Team 8 will have a tour called Toyota presents AKB48 Team 8 Zenkoku Tour: 47 no suteki na machi he

Kouhaku performers announced. AKB/SKE/NMB/HKT will appear. Nogizaka will not.
AKB48 Kouhaku 2014 will be taking place on December 16th at Tokyo Dome city hall.
The 4th AKB48 Kouhaku Utagassen will be aired on BS Sky Perfect TV on 1/10(8~11.30pm)

HKT48 5th single announced (2/11/15)

AKB48 Request Hour 2015 will be held January 21st-25th.

Nogizaka46's 1st album to be released on 7th of January, fans will vote for couplings to be included. AKB48's 6th album will be released soon after on the 21st.

Japanese nationalism is literally (in the literal meaning of the word) more relevant to otaku culture than half of the topics on here. One of the major fundaments of otaku culture (how I hate using that Danny Choo-esque expression) is the focus on domestic Japanese entertainment over Western and other Asian media, and the otaku subculture has historically overlapped heavily with nationalism in Japan. The otaku subculture as we know it today, and thus this board in its current form, wouldn't exist if these nationalist ideals hadn't been involved in the subculture from the very beginning. There wouldn't have been such a thing as a centralized idea of Japanese animation, for one - it would end up more like the American movie industry, in which there's no real unified subculture, no categorizable aesthetic and a total mishmash of different cultures and sociopolitical motivations.
Without the protectivist attitude inherent in otaku culture, Japanese media would have been overrun by foreigners, and this board wouldn't exist.

Fun fact:
Manga (漫画) in the context of "comics" is a native Japanese coinage. At the time that the coinage came into use, there was no established expression for "comic", since the concept barely existed yet.
Korea (or rather, the Chinese barony known as Korea) introduced hangul in 1443 to combat increasing illiteracy, and hanja use has remained mostly literary since then.
The characters "漫画" in themselves do not suggest a comic or anything of the like, and the chance of a completely identical coinage appearing in the Korean language before its appearance in the Japanese, especially during such a heavily militaristic period as the Meiji period, is next to zero.
Yet the Korean government claims that their "manhwa" is ORIGINAL COREAN CREATION EQUAL TO HEAVEN, despite it being a Chinese literary expression used by the Japanese (who don't deny its Chinese origins) to describe an uniquely Japanese creation - and that the Korean language was not exactly in a good period, and as such the usage of hanja was low.
Maybe you shouldn't trust a country that seems to treat historical fact as more of a polite suggestion than the actual truth. Just saying. Stuff like this is in Korean school history textbooks, which tell of how GLORIOUS COREA invented everything from sushi over ramen, samurai, kendo and calligraphy to manga and anime.

Probably not the case with her since those marks seem to have been there for some time and are on the side of her arm, but for the latter anon, you can get bruises that look very similar to that from blood tests/injections. When I was hospitalised with daily blood tests, my arm ended up looking similar to that, just with a lot more spots and different levels of fading since I had a lot of samples taken.

In 2013, out of all music buyers, only barely 10% of them did rely on digital sales (the Chaku Uta service in particular doesn't even cover 7%) and they've been losing userbase since the last year if anything. Everyone else would rather buy a CD or rent it, and everyone would understand why anyway.
What's the point of spending money on something that doesn't exist physically, is binded by DRM and can be deleted server-side at any time without the buyer's permission anyway? People go toward what's more advantageous to them, and since every musical group with a sliver of charisma has started using meet-and-greets for their sales promotions, 1000 yen for something physical which also includes free giveaways is a worthy purchase for them, much more than a bunch of 1s and 0s that doesn't include any "buyer's privilege" kind of bonus.

Look at who are the most popular musicians in these last 100 years, you'll see that people who gained success at all weren't merely a voice etched on a vinyl, or some sort of hermits who never exited their homes if not to walk to the record studio and back again. As a matter of fact, all of them were people who appeared on TV and newspapers, more often than not to talk about things completely separated from music. They did cinema. They wrote books. On some instances they even founded their own political and religious movements, and strived to incorporate their gist into their song.
In short, people have always been following singers not for their music itself, but for the charisma figures behind them. Music purchase has never been about music itself, but about supporting the figures that these singers represent. Whether or not music hold any importance to the crowd, it's intrinsically related to the personal charisma of the performer and the emotional bond he might have created with the fans.

The point of contention here is that you keep singling out AKB as the only group that uses these promotions to boost sales while you live in a la-la land where everyone else just "buys music for the music itself" (a point I already addressed in my other post by the way). All of this is not only ignorant but runs counter to the history of group promotions thus far. I love Harugon, but she was declining in popularity before her transfer. Most of her fans in Japan, bar the most hardcore, would have moved on (it's been 2 years), so she'd be even worse off than before she left.

Management could try and push it as a big homecoming thing, but as everyone knows the wota are a fickle bunch... it's a big gamble, for not much reward.

She's near the top of JKT, and she's happy, there is no point in trading that for a coin-toss where the biggest payoff is becoming slightly relevant in AKB.
