Actually the worst part about F/SN is the overwhelming amount of slice of life scenes.

They just ruin most of the atmosphere. Obviously there's a lot of bullshit elsewhere too, and the main character is a complete idiot, but Tsukihime had it's moments there too.

FSN Herakles is naturally a Saber or Archer class. His intellect is disabled since Ilya summoned him specifically as a Berserker, which by default have no ability to reason.

TLDR - Herakles is smart, but Ilya was smarter.

What makes Tsukihime better than FSN is the atsmosphere, you can feel the danger , the drama, the mindfuck.The music does a better job to add to the atmosphere than FSN.The characters interactions are so superior to the character interactions of FSN that it hurts,and the slice of life segments and Shirou's Pov are fucking annoying.FSN plot is too forced at times, some times they lead to plot holes,weak plot or unexplainable developments.Tsukihime's plot flows better, it's simple and credible..
Tsukihime's plot is also more mature, each resolution have more weight to them 1) Arc and Shiki didn't end up in good terms in Ciel's True End, 2) After every single of the Far Side of the Moon routes, Arc and Ciel will keep hunting Roa, 3) Akiha ends up as a doll in one ending, 4) Akiha and Kohaku die in another end, 5) Hisui's Good End wasn't precisely happy. In F/sn, only 2 characters couldn't be saved: 1) Ilya in UBW, 2) Saber and Ilya in HF.
Shirou never actually shows his resolve when it comes to deal with people who are prepared to kill,and the story does not have serious and mature Masters - aside from Zoken-and the only time Shirou had to confront one of his friends, was in HF against Black Saber. Shiki, on the other hand, had to fight Arc, Ciel, Akiha, and Satsuki at some point - there's also the point when he realises all what Kohaku has been doing.
FSN is just too light and aimed at teenagers. That why the dark and cold as ice Tsukihime is superior.

Saber - King Arthur may or may not have existed at all, so no one interpretation is better than any other. Arthur or Arthuria, same thing.
Same thing for Caliburnus/Excalibur - there is no proof either exised.
However, King Arthur (if he lived) was most likely either of Roman descent or Saxon, and so unlikely to be blonde. But then again blonde hair is something of a Japanese artistic convention to represent foreigners.
The armour is completely anachronistic - similar armour was only worn in the late 15th century, almost 1000 years after the Arthurian age.

Other changes for better or for worse...

FSN gives a more "realistic" ending to the legend as Arthuria simply dies. Avalon as a physical place, the "Isle of Apples" is never mentioned.

In the Taín Cuchullain is described as having red hair, eight pupils in each eye, and a total of 14 fingers and 14 toes. FSN treats the whole legendary description as a metaphor.
Cuchullains intimate (not that intimate) relationship with dogs is not elaborated on.
As for Saber, completely anachronistic clothing. Why the hell is the guy wearing a skijumping suit?
There is no mention in FSN of Gae Bolg having to be launched from the foot.

However, Cuchullains relation to Caladbolg is fairly accurate.

FSN has at least 1 good routes (HF),every Tsukihime route is good.
TH has several good porn scenes, FSN only has one (Shirou/Saber in Fate route) unless HF has some.
FSN has better graphics and music.
TH has better plot with less reliance on stupidity and coincidence.

5 to TH 1 to FSN . It is a draw unless HF route can switch the porn scenes result.

Sort of. Not all, but some servants have characteristics that overlap between classes. When that happens, the summoner has to choose which class to summon the servant as (the choices may be limited further if there is already a servant of the preferred class in the war).
For example, Herakles can be summoned as berserker, archer or saber, Cuchullain can be summoned as lancer or berserker, etc. The others are a bit unclear.

As for Herakles, had Ilya summoned him as an archer of saber there would probably have been too much friction in their relation. Ilya is pretty smart anyway, so her ideal servant is a pure tank.

Tsukihime said it openly: Shiki is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
They did that on purpose too. An average player gets a chance to figure out all the pieces of the puzzle and understands it before Shiki does.

The impact of given news is way stronger if you get to figure it out by yourself than if you're told of it openly. By keeping Shiki slow to catch on, they make sure only dumbest players will be learning the revelations from his thoughts, the rest will just find confirmations for their suspicions.

Gilgamesh is made to feel like a much bigger threat to the leads that Roa, Nrvnsqr, or Walachia ever did.

Plus, the way Wallachia torments Sion is just brilliant. The fucker has style.

Best Villian in Fate. Xanatos Gambles and everything. Archer wasn't the strongest Servant, but damn he played everyone in the end until his own conscience won out on him and he realized his dream wasn't wrong after all.

Hell, FSN would have been fucking sweet if told from Rin's POV with a route hooking up with Archer. They had more Chemistry together than Shirou and Saber and Shirou and Saber did.
