/jp/ doesn't seem to talk about doujin music all that much anymore. I remember when doujin upload threads, even non-Comiket ones, would be filled with posts and discussion and shit. I think everyone just goes elsewhere for their doujin things since it's gotten so shitty here.

My guess is people here don't bother with non-denpa doujin music threads anymore after all the shitposting that happens every time. I'm kinda glad threads aren't as common anymore, it gets tiring seeing the same shitposts constantly after a few years.

There have been a few cases, but I'm pretty sure all of them are for anime or CP. Even big circles like IOSYS probably can't do much to track down uploaders. As far as I know, the Japanese police have proprietary software that can be used to MAYBE unmask an uploader on PD, but I'm pretty sure it's based on some chance as well. I think it has something to do with faking PD nodes or something. I bet the anime or TV companies threw some money at them to track down a few major uploaders, but other than that I doubt they would be bothered to track down any major music uploaders.
AFAIK Share and Winny are completely broken, it's pretty easy to track down uploaders on them.

I do doubt that doujin circles are able to track and report illegal sharing of their work, and I do doubt that police are really caring for them. They'll most likely be after people who commit serious crimes and damage the anime industry.
However, the idea that they might get caught can intimidate a lot of people. Why would you risk being tracked by the police just in order to provide something you paid for to the rest of the world for free?

I do wonder whether the Japanese authorities will break down one day, due to the impossibily huge debt burden and the lack of genuine growth. Japan has debt making Greece looking healthy and is in a recession now, and the population is already in decline and severely aging.

Hello Doujin Music Thread,

I don't come here very often, but I have been listening to this music for a while now, like 2 years or so. I wish to dive head first in and acquire new music material to enjoy.

The first artist I heard was "Shibayan Records" and I proceeded to hunt down every album. I also liked a lot of Iemitsu's music and IOSYS.

My question for you guys isn't recommendations, but general knowledge. Like where do you get updates on your favorite artists and new releases? I'm sure I can find this stuff out over time but you guys seem nice enough to help kickstart for me, right?

For new releases I just keep track of when events are where doujin music releases usually happen (Comiket, Reitaisai, etc.) and go to the Doujinstyle preview/download threads pertaining to each event

For specific favorite artists I just add them on soundcloud and twitter and all that crap to get the latest news on all their happenings
