Been playing the first Ley Line game, just finished Neko's route. The fuck was that? It felt like it was only half written. No credit roll or anything. Oh well, hopefully the main plot makes up for it.

I finished Yuuki and Misasa routes in Lovely Cation, after Yuni. Both were improvements over it, particularly Yuuki's was great and pretty much all I could have asked from the game and I doubt I'll find a better route in it than hers. Misasa's was ok, after the initial drama it was all icha icha and sex for the rest of it, not even an attempt of drama at the end.
Only Aya and Sera left, not particularly excited but they can't possibly be worse than the abortion that was Yuni's route.

Misasa has a short drama during her after-stories, so remember to at least see that. I think she's the only one with a small plot, the rest is all icha-icha. Not that I'm complaining, a lot of so-called romance games sink in non-ending drama, the lovey-dovey department remains closed for almost the whole thing.

Playing Nanatsuiro Reincarnation now.
It's definitely a harem game because of the onis, but the story has no useless 2 hour fillers, i feel the writing flowing in a good pace, not too slow, not too fast.

Hidden op was pretty cool and i love where this is going. Been awhile since my last nakige.

I played a bit of the trial. Better than I was expecting, and I'm kind of interested in seeing where it goes.

And FYI in case you didn't notice, if you open up the engine config .exe you can set the scaler to Lanczos so it doesn't look like total dogshit in fullscreen. Not sure why that's not enabled by default.

Finished AliceSoft's Blade☆Briders.
Very weak work overall.
No routes, no NG+.
Protag was different from other typical AS protags (he's neither Rance-like, nor Drapeko-like), and his peculiar behavior is only thing that kept me from dropping game.
Ending was very cliche and stupid. Plot itself was amusing, but except few dramatic scenes, its drapeko-grade nonsense.

Didn't like any of heroines, and there were only 4 good h-scenes.
Gameplay itself was fun and difficult enough.

Overall, it was entertaining enough, but feels like wasted time, I have better stuff in backlog.

I'm pretty much on the lowest level when it comes to VNs, but I did recently finish Fate/Hollow Ataraxia since it was translated. Overall I found it okay, the main story wasn't thrilling but the everyday life stuff was entertaining to me at least.

I'm trying to unlock all the ema and I have all but a few, now apparently the only way to earn money is by playing hanafuda. How do I get good?

Done with Lovelyxcation, overall I'd rank the routes Yuuki>Sera>Aya>Misasa>Yuni.
Aya would rank higher but after the confession scene the route kind of goes downhill pretty fast, it feels really rushed for some reason, just sex sex sex and ten minutes of drama then end, sorely lacking in icha icha stuff.
Sera on the other hand was pretty solid, she was cute and the gap between her outer persona and her real self is pretty cute and made for an interesting drama compared to everyone else's who had something more generic. She's also milf autist's wet dream.

3 Different protagonists in 3 different parts in the timeline in that world. Some plot elements in Majo and 巨乳ファンタジー2 get reused as minor plot points in the main series and if you play them out of release order it can lessen the final story climax of Majo and 巨乳ファンタジー2.

The series is written to be read in release order rather than timeline order or the main games then the side games. Some things got retconned after Majo considering the series took off and going back to Majo after reading that can be a bit jarring, and Gaiden 2 is riddled with spoilers and references to 巨乳ファンタジー2 so you don't want to read Gaiden 2 before reading 巨乳ファンタジー2.

So read it in this order, and hopefully you get as hooked as i did with the series

He meant .exe in the install folder which is used to launch the game itself. Install the game, find the installation folder and game .exe, run the crack, drag and drop the .exe into the cracker's window and tada.

Depending on the type of crack it either modifies / replaces the game .exe so it can launch without a disc or creates another .exe file in the same folder which can then be used to run the game.

The Japanese are notoriously bad at international business, but every once in a while some execs that aren't blinded by xenophobia notice the untapped markets that other parts of the world have. I hate to admit it, but those godawful Steam VNs show that a market is at least there.

Of course, this is just my opinion as a business student. I've never been able to make sense of how the hell Japanese companies make decisions.

I've been using VMs to run VNs for years now. I started it to just have a Japanese Windows version with all the settings set on Japan to avoid most of locale and gaijin protection problems. All the VM files and disks and all the games are on a Truecrypt partition just in case.

I usually use VMWare + WinXP, but have also tried OracleVB + WinXP (It runs smoother on my machine but has worse 3D support, so even some simple games don't work for some reason) and VMWare + Win7 oncce (Ojounana showed no text on XP). So I advise to install Japanese Win 7 on VMWare from the start, if your hardware allows. It seems VM Tools for Win 7 guest have better support for graphics for both VMWare and Oracle VB.

Currently every game I've tried worked ultimately, except Artificial Academy, so I guess you may have problems with 3D shit. Although it may work on Win 7 as well, I wasn't that much interested in it. ITH also just works without a hitch.

The Happy end is something like a remake + FD. It has the original one's scenes as well (and they changed some scenes from it, like natsuha's thing) and after stories for heroines. You can just read happy end without playing the first one, and I'd suggest playing directly the happy end.

I really enjoy these kinds of MC. If I wanted to be an unpopular guy, I wouldn't need to be playing VNs. Kinda wish the heroines had a little less meat in the chest area though.

I don't really care for hair colors so I can't see the appeal of playing a game which sole point is the hair color of its heroines. Maybe I'm not alone.

On the plus site it forces the artist to make them look less same-facey, so it might not be all that bad.

That's why in Happy End Natsuha was literally invisible in Sumi's route? I was wondering why.

I got really bored of Monobeno though, I couldn't finish it. Sumi's route was really interesting but Alice's is boring plus I hate her and Natsuha's isn't bad but it lacks the variety and world building that Sumi's route had.
