that being said, you've got it wrong anon. japan doesn't hate korea. korea hates japan. in fact all of the asians hate japan. an asian never forgets, and the atrocities committed during ww2 are still fresh in the minds of koreans.

Maybe. There are specific parts of the Japanese population who are particularly anti-Korean, which includes some boisterous parts of their Internet population.
If he's an easily-influenced, secluded individual with a knack for knee-jerk reactions, he may frown upon hearing it. If he's got some sense of what goes on around him and is a bit more media savvy, he probably won't care.

The crimes committed through Japan's occupation of Asian states are very real, but keeping that grudge alive for 70 years takes hard work, if through systematic means.

People love thinking on the basis of "we vs them", and there are a myriad of sources who would love to take advantage of this for their own goals, whether to strengthen their support base or expand their ideology.
This includes governments, media outlets, political orgs, advocate groups, etc.
Insulated folks tend to just gobble that information up, forging their opinions only on what they know.

I know some folks on the Japan side who has the same opinion towards Koreans (and on a similar note, Chinese). There are just some people who hate a country, some people who love it, and others who don't give a rat's ass.

I might even say most Japanese were in the third category, at least until the more modern riots, diplomatic saber-rattling and political finger-pointing that's happened in the past decade or so.

The first interaction Korea ever had with Japan was that they stole are their god damn chickens.

Japan sets up their infrastructure and rebuilds their mud people indigenous existence they were left with after China ruined their faces in the warring states period.

Korea complains they were taken out of Korea to build railroads and shit in Japan, being left there to live in Japan. They constantly ask for apologies. They have never beaten Japan in a war yet feel entitled to them repaying their defeat moreover than they already have done so out of good will. Millions sent to Korea in retribution but it's not enough.

The constant theft of Japanese culture and passing it off as their own, the Yakuza mainly being korean gangs, most of the street punk culture in Japan is from Korean descendants, and the list keeps going on.

Its not just history. There is a lot of political reasons as well. Its easy to mask inside problems by pointing out at outside enemy, especially the one your people like to hate. Korean politicans abused this to greather degree but Japan has it too.
Also the nazi-wanna-be's loyalty is very easy to get and because of this there is always people exploiting this for their personal gain in every age/era. Hence the fire of hatred still going.

Resentment aside, it's good that plenty of Japanese people want to maintain their identity and stance in their own country. When it comes to racial issues, the vast majority of everyone is usually really irrational about it in different ways.

Really, border control should just have court rulings everyone can attend, about whoever kinds of people are looking to be a citizen, and the citizens of a country should recognize that the country is the collective property of all the citizens, so it should just be a case of putting a collective decision in of who you wanna let through. It's not like there's any decent reason to think the world should share everywhere, it should just be a case of the states are shared with all citizens. There's too many people who think anyone should be able to cross a border just so long as they aren't murderous. There's a lot of other crap that is bad about people too, and just allow anyone you want and no one you don't want, what are the obligations?
