The OKC is a multirole utility bayonet that excels at slashing, as well as stabbing. The extra thick blade would make it much better at both stabbing and slashing than the M7. That is precisely why they replaced it. In addition, the OKC3S has a much higher hardness rating, and a much better non-reflective coating, as well as a Kraton grip for better purchase in wet or oily conditions.
