More and more cute villages are being abandoned. It makes me want to cry when I see these places that used to be filled with life and now they're just decaying ghost towns.

My grandparents used to live in Yamagata's countryside.
There was literally one marketplace in the whole town where everybody bought their stuff.
There were maybe 3-5 restaurants probably less. I only ever went to the Ramen place in walking distance.
The school was made of wood and while it had some floor toilets that had piping and would flush, there were still some bathrooms where you would literally shit/piss into a floor toilet placed over a big, deep hole.
