This guy directeed Ro Kyuu Bu, Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?, Dog Days and the second season of Nanoha, among others.

Can't help but feel the director isn't up to the task, with the exception of Nanoha everything he has done are silly cute girls series.

On another hand, the man in charge of the series composition, Hanada Jukki, may be able to give a serious tone to the anime given he's a veteran having done scripts for Chobits, Fate/Stay Night, Rozen Maiden (2004) and Steins;Gate.

If only Akiyuki Shimbou were to be the man directing this...

I'm sorry for likely asking a question that's likely been asked many times before.

DMM let me register my debit card just fine, and its on my account proper like it should be (even got the 500 bonus points for it). Except when I attempt to actually make a transaction I just get an error message saying

"ご登録のクレジットカードは現在利用できない状態です。" The machine translate says "Credit card of your registration is in the state that are not currently available".

Generally I'd heard that once you got a card registered you were in the clear but its giving me guff it seems.

That is an oversight on the part of KCViewer. The B17 and Bm2 quests have the same name (deploy a submarine fleet!!) so it flags them as the same quest, but they are not.

The one you're not getting credit for is the world 6-1 quest.

Having some luck with CLTx3 DD2x FBBx1. I put a DD as flagship with all ASW to take out the sub at the boss node at the start of the second shelling phase to ensure that my other ships don't get stuck wasting attacks on it more than once. Searchlight on Haruna in the second spot to absorb hits and a Starshell on the other DD. Echelon all the way through to the boss then double line, and hope enough girls survive to actually do something during the night battle.

Switched back to double 15.2 triple turret secondary and they missed much less and when they did, they one shotted late model destroyers and heavily damaged Tsu.

CVs are simple:

Put green in the biggest slots until you have enough AS for the map you want to clear
Put saiun in the smallest slot
Put red in the smallest slot for every carrier if there is are at least 2 slots left
Put blue in the everything else

Obviously but your best fighters in the biggest slots

That is the standard lay out for a Shoukaku class carrier most of the times but you've got to take into account other factors to decide your carrier's lay out in an optimal way.

Mainly, how much air power you want to bring? do you want to get air superiority or air supremacy? do your carriers reach the damage cap on daytime? do you want your carriers to act purely as AA support for the rest of the fleet or as damage dealers?

Carriers are the most complex ship to properly equip in this game due that they can fill lots of roles and set-ups vary a lot due to the difference in the firepower stat and slot's size.

This is why you need to read thee combat page and use the air superiority calculator in the OP.

That's a rule of thumb but it doesn't work allways and it never is optimal.

For example, you can only bring one carrier to a map, Only Kaga can bring enough planes to have enough planes for air superiority and have enough xtra Air power to not lose it on the way to he boss. You only have the last 12 planes slot to put a single attack plane.

What do you use? Ryuusei Kai or Suisei 12 A?

Personally I'd go with ryuusei, but I think the answer you're looking for is suisei.

I agree it's not perfect, and to be honest half the reason I posted so somebody could explain why I'm being stupid.

Nevertheless I think it's a good place to start and should give a bit of a feel on what planes to use. Better than AA guns anyway.

12 slots Ryuusei Kai is too small to kill something on the preemptive strike. With the 1.5 modifier and some luck you MAY be able to take down an enemy destroyer.

So your best bet is on the shelling phase, wher dive bombers give a 2.0 modifier.

There is also the factor (not confirmed) that dive bombes are shot down in less quantities than torpedo bombers so, when you have an slot so small, you've got to make it as resilient as possible.

AA guns being a defense against their shelling is one of the things I had in mind when I said they should be viable.
Their shelling is really, really good for something that gets such a powerful pre-emptive multitarget damage source. If having an AA gun or two kicking around served to reduce that, they'd still keep their powerful defining feature while being less insane elsewhere.

I mean, right now, AA guns are practically pointless outside of very specific fights where you aren't allowed to take any carriers. AA guns would give you more fleet flexibility if they were just more useful, because right now they only reliable defense against carriers is carriers.

A straight up nerf to carriers might make them closer to subs, which are also a problem. It wouldn't quite be the same because subtime aka night battle is an opt-in thing, whereas CVs still ream you with shelling in day battle after creaming you with their opening.

Another thing is that as enemies, they are different units from your own. They don't have resource costs or repairs, so the general CV weakness (as player units) being cost just doesn't apply to them, and they get to shit their damage all over your fleet every time. Since they're just enemies they could tweak stats on one side only. But I don't really think that would be necessary if there were just more ways to deal with them.

I don't think they should remove any flavor or mechanics from ship types for balance purposes, but CVs and CVLs just kind of do too much damage with too few counters, and run the show. You'd think a reliable counter to them would be to run AAs on night battle ships to better survive their opening and shelling, and then hit them when they can't fight back. But AA is too butt, so there's only one way to deal with them, which is more carriers.

Fucking hell, I need to get my last 5-5 kill before the end of the month and suddenly RNG trolls the fuck out of me after I had good success rate on the first 4 kills.

8 tries today fully sparkled with heavy route support fleet; dead-end, failed boss kill, 4 times hit to red by Re + 1 time Kaga hit to red at first node, one more dead-end. Added a boss support fleet after the failed kill but never even got a chance to use it.

The one time I reached the boss Nagato did shit damage to the lead Wo in yasen, then Yamato and Musashi took out the other Wo and Hime instead (then to add insult to injury, Musashi eats a sub cut-in for 1100 steel gone).

Just so I can say I cleared it, there's next to nothing else for me to accomplish and I have a ridiculous amount of resources from months with nothing to spend them on (last event barely making a dent).

I ignored it for months after a few token attempts early on, but after finally getting Musashi during the last event I decided to try it again. Killed the boss my first new attempt, had some failures when my unsparkled ships kept getting hit, started fully sparkling and got next 3 kills without much trouble.

I might have to try the 3 sub method for this last kill, at least then there's no compass trolling and all 6 ships can attack in yasen.

The pre-emptive attack is only powerful against weak enemies, or when very strong enemies do it to you. Your own carriers don't have impressive offense against the toughest enemies, but where shelling gets silly is when the number of planes sent and the target air defenses don't matter. Instead, there should be an arms race between how many attack planes are used and how much AA is defending.

With Yorktown in E6, there was no way to defend against the shelling, even if you were willing to dedicate your entire fleet to 100% air defense. It was downright cheesy. But at the same time, the lack of offense scaling means you can't try to turn a carrier into a daytime KTKM-sama.

1. If you have the third fleet ready, spam expedition 2 or 6 and 5.
2. If you have sufficient dev mats and resources, craft 4 BB and 2CV (get only 1 CV if you have Akagi from the quest.

As it is, the game pretty much puts the carrier with the surface force that is engaging the enemy within visual range which is why the carriers can often be hit. If they make it like the combined fleet mechanics, only that that carriers are untouchable if certain requirements are met then it might be better. For example, get air supremacy and the advantageous side can reach the enemy carriers but the enemy carriers cannot retaliate against those carriers. Get air superiority then the disadvantageous side has a small chance of launching planes against the enemy. Get air parity however and pretty much both sides can get at each other.

The thing is, I did believe in them after having about a 50% success rate on the first 4 kills. I went in again expecting them to kick Re ass, only to get compass trolled and fucked by the second Wo-Kai at boss node. Then they start getting wrecked by Re and it all goes to hell. Putting 2 red guns on a CL seems like it's not that effective to me. Their firepower isn't that great and they end up killing only DDs and CLs at best even with artillery spotting.

Using 2 15.2 triple mount secondary not only gives you firepower but also the accuracy to one shot DDs and CLs. Also Historically, the Mogami class, classified as light cruisers at the moment of construction, used 15.2 triple mount turrets on then too.

It's a pain, I admit. They cause annoying scratch damage. Not a problem if you have enough repair docks and CLs for rotation, but BB damage is indeed annoying.

It is less than ideal map, but it's really good anyway. My Yuugumos agree.

4-3 is by far the most efficient map to give selective mvp tu DD/CLs, and when I get to the J node I retreat about 20% of the time. If you don't know how to deal with that map, that's your problem, the map is good.
