Kigurumi (着ぐるみ) is a kind of costuming where the player wears a full body skin suit (called hadatai) along with an anime mask. The Japanese word "kigurumi" refers to any kind of full-body costume, but in this thread we're specifically looking for anime masks combined with skin-toned bodysuits - properly known as "animegao" kigurumi.

How exactly do these body suits work? I was under the belief that they were full body until recently, but I fucked a kigger at a con not long back and the suit was designed in such a way where it was hard to tell where it started and ended, with certain areas exposed and left to be covered by clothes.

Are some of these outfitted to be sex friendly, with the hands, feet, crotch, and chest uncovered or was this a custom suit? It seemed too professional to be something that they made themselves, since the material matched their skin-tone and seemed to thin out and get tighter the closer it got to their exposed skin, so I'm guessing that it was one of those premium ones? Are they really expensive? I can't imagine somebody paying that much just for it to get stained by lube and/or semen.

One person posts stories but that's it.

Is there anything you guys would like to see out of it? I obviously plan to keep the conversation style away from childish and encourage constructive conversation, but both of these things are impossible without conversation.

i don't think it's about getting involed but about getting the critical mass of people who are active and contributing so more people join in.

as for me i wouldn't use a simple forum if it wasn't for the community already active there. i'm still waiting for my mask, so i guess when it arrives i have to think about a forum - so i'm interested in this topic. especially because i kinda dislike the kcs kind of behaviour i see when i'm lurking there.

as i mentioned earlier, you would need something of value. it's really late here and i'm going on vacation tomorrow so im troubled with other matters and cant really think of some cool features.. which would require some sort of effort.

so i guess the questions you have to ask (yourself) are:
why would someone change from an existing forum?
why would a someone who is fine with lurking until now get involved by adding content or discussion?
what kind of interesting addition to a conversation do non perfomers have?

especially the last one is tricky and i've added that to the list because i'm in a/the (idk) kigurumi facebook group and all some people do is posting kig pics without source and a commentary consisting of "cute" "girl" and "dress" in any thinkable combination. and to be honest, this is just trash...

it's not that i want to undermine your project. it's just that i think it involves a reasonable amount of work to get this rolling.. like thinking-of and implementing some features, advertise and get some people to join. especially performers - i guess.

if you're b-cup, a smaller bind should do just fine. if you get one of the proper ones, they're not that tight and pretty breathable. They're mostly marketed towards FTM but they'll still be useful for what you're trying to do.

Don't use sports tape or ace bandages or anything like that, it can restrict your breathing or in the worst case break a rib.

It'll probably take at least a year, but once I do fix both of those I fully intend to do it. I know I'll be bad at it, but I've seen enough good ones at this point that I can't help but want to try anyways.

GKO is not in japan.

Also I recommend getting the bodysuit from ayame, just make sure you get the right skin tone to match. I got my first suit from GKO and I regret doing so because when I got the ayame it was like a night and day difference. It will cost more but the fit and look are worth it.

How are kigu generally treated at Western cons?
I'm big into cosplay in public, and crossdressing in private. I'm thinking of bringing them together and doing a kigu cosplay of the Major from Ghost in the Shell.

I have a slim enough body that with strategic padding people wouldn't even know I'm a guy. And I have way too much disposable income. So I can totally make it work and make it sexy.

But it'd be shitty if I did all that work and spend all that money to end up having people be scared of me.

If you do a recognizable character, nail her signature poses, have a decent costume, then chances are you'd do well anyways. Now if you can add a Kig mask that resembles the character,that will probably put you over the top.

Western Cons are getting used to Kig gradually. If you can pick out a convention where other Kigs congregate or have done so in the past, you'll get maximum acceptance, or at worst indifference.

it's more like.. not even trying.. the wig looks like a mop and the costumes look like closet cosplay and some 50 bucks costumes from walmart - thrown on a man with a bodsuit and a mask.

i know it's easy to sit here and give flak from the covers of anonymity but it's what you would hear from each and every person roaming on cgl if you would post a picture of an actual female wearing those costumes.

what i like about the japanese kigs and some westerners is that they put so much effort in their costumes as they put money in their hobby. they dont sport a wrinkled wig or costumes like that.. that's the difference.

also the masks doesnt really look like it would fit to the costumes. i guess it should, but it still looks off

Well based on what I see this character is rather young. Hmmm, gotta take into consideration that your kigu doesnt necessarily have to be an established shell. You could just talk with GKO or whoever you choose and look into something more custom if your worried about how the proportions would exactly come out.

Depending on your tastes which seems to be the eastern makers, you could go with Monaka, besides GKO. Ive always liked the later and current works of Charming Kitsune could go there.

Though his GPM 06 seems fine for someone your size.

As for the Kagaki zentai its CUSTOM for a reason. Theres plenty who have gotten from her. Though your character seems to have a pinkish hue to her flesh tone so id say go Ayame.
