I got a few good hours out of it. It's really nice to have certain knowledge during the demo like the Type-chart, game mechanics, items, and abilities. Translation is happening as we speak; I'm excited for it.

It's a standalone game this time, not a hack. The restrictions of the Pokémon games must've been too much, not to mention how stale Kanto/Hoenn is by now.

The blue and red seems to change. So I'm thinking red means recommended and blue mean unrecommended.

For instance, I'm using Iku vs Nazrin. Iku is Electric, Nazrin is Earth/Steel. Water Bullet is in red, while Lightning Bullet is in blue. Earth is weak to Water, but immune to Electric. So this makes sense.

I fight Iku vs Nitori now. Nitori is Water/Steel. Lightning Bullet is in red, Water Bullet is in blue now. Water resists Water but is weak to Electric. This is what I'm thinking.

We're working on translating the GUI first off, since it's all image based and likely wont change for the full release. It's also simple phrases and stuff. We've got quite a few of the images translated so far. Text will probably come last.
It's also a standalone game, separate from the Touhoumon Rom hacks. Touhoumon 2.0, if you prefer - a clean break from the 1.x generation.

Mu or 無 is the kind of tempoary measure the translating team is using before we can be sure of what to call it in English. 無 literally means nothing, and when we were trying to come up with an equivalent English word, (Void, Null, Nothing, Nigh, Nihil) but there wasn't exactly an agreement. (Albeit Void seems to be the most favorable) Mu is the just he literally pronounciation of 無. And until we know more of what puppets have the typing of 無, we'll just be calling it Mu. Like say, if Koishi was Mu, it would likely be called Void, but Koishi wasn't in here so... we dunno yet.

I'm honestly for Void. I was also the first person to suggest it being called Null, but no one liked the name. I guess I liked the name Null because of love for MegaMan Battle Network, and Null just makes more sense there.

Also about Reimu being Mu/Illusion
Gensokyo literally means 'Land of Illusions', and Reimu is considered an 'illusionary' being. In the world of Gensokyo, there is a clear boundary between Reality, Illusion, Fantasy, Virtual, etc.
When Reimu 'floats', she's in a sense, floating away from 'reality' and into fantasy. She's becoming 'void' from 'reality'. And as the Shrine Maiden, she is the protector of Gensokyo. Protector of the 'Land of Illusions'.
Just so there isn't confusion, to the people of Gensokyo, this 'land of illusion' is their reality. I'm sure you guys get what I mean.

The difficulty is good unless you use Alice, Alice rekts shit left and right. One of her moves should be nerfed. Reisen was useless.

I like that you can't switch puppets out after falling and opponent so your first puppet must be carefully chosen. Also the full party getting exp is EXCELLENT.

Those stat requirements are a huge lie, my ancient little Duron managed to run the game just fine with no noticeable slowdown.
Played the game enough to beat the baquartet+bonus fairy, I absolutely love how you can distribute your EVs just like that and the capture system is a nice idea. The permanent Exp. All effect combined with how much experience everything at your level gives makes me worried about how long the full game might be, though.

They did improve a few things but it's a shame they stopped there when there are still so many things that could've been fixed.

Here's the current progress:
Images- Almost complete, just a few remain that need to be done by somebody else in the group (since they require pixeling the font).
Attacks- Translation needs to be redone and then edited for style consistency. Attack names have to be hex edited into the database.
Puppets- Names need to be hex edited in.
Dialogue- Untouched.
Battle/Menu Strings- I believe they are all translated. I shared the .exe two days ago with some people asking for playtests and reports but haven't heard anything back.

No news is usually good news; progress is slowing down because we're in school again, but like the above stated, we have most of the UI finished. I'm thinking we may have a UI patch out first before a dialogue patch. Keep in mind, all changes are effective for 1.01, and will not work on 1.00.
