I should really read Remember 11 already.

Also, why is everyone being all le ironic counterculture about Ever17? It was pretty great all around. The atmosphere of the game was good, the scenes were memorable and heart-string tugging, the music was bretty gud, the mystery was a neat twist, and even though the true route was kind of overblown on the EVERYONE LIVES HAPPILY EVER AFTER THING, I didn't give a shit, I liked the characters enough to just want them to be happy

Ever17 is one of those cases where a common route should probably just be removed from the experience. If you reduce Ever17 to just the unique scenes, it's really incredible to read. You just have to skip through all the common route after the first time, which is a lot of stuff to skip.

>> No.12307669

>>12307658
This is true. Whenever you have to skip through the common part it still takes a long time and it feels longer than in 999 when you had to restart and skip text. I'm glad I managed to grind through it and get to the true ending, which was a good read.

Ever17: The game puts lots of questions in your head, and answers them as you go along in increasingly greater ways. You reach the end expecting an amazing answer to the biggest question of all, only to find that the author got bored or some shit and couldn't even figure out a good answer to his own fucking story so he resorts to literal magic under the guise of magical unexplainable four-dimensional beings to answer all of his remaining plotholes. Even with this, some plotholes aren't answered.

Remember11: Same as above except there isn't even a magic 4D jesus did it answer, you're just left with zero answers to anything. It actually says "to be continued" at the end. Garbage. Also more retarded magical cocksucker space and time works differently in my universe because I said so, the coffee's taste isn't defined by its material contents but instead by the magic of some "quantum" garbage (which sounds extremely scientific so it must be, another thing this author likes to do a lot).

It's perfectly possible to find an answer to everything and the reason it doesn't outright give you the answers is the entire point of the story. The goal of the 'villain' characters was to trap the player character in an infinite loop

>> No.12308528

> and the reason it doesn't outright give you the answers is the entire point of the story
But only the story itself is able to give me answers outright, there is no way for me to obtain them myself. The workings of the story's universe do not fit with reality, which means I cannot reason about how things are going to work in the story. The coffee cups that switch places, appearances, and materials but not flavors? Right after that scene the fucking guy says right there that you cannot use common sense to reason about it? Right here the story is telling you "You cannot reason about me or draw any conclusions about me! You just don't understand the true nature of my Zero-Dimensional Spiritual Quantum Jesusness!". And then it fails to deliver.

But I did draw one conclusion, and that is that this author is a fucker.

Yes there is. There is no true route in Remember11. If you go back and get a bunch of the bad endings, they add more and more details that they don't tell you in the main routes. There's also a lot of important details in the TIPS that you're supposed to read.

>It wasn't, that's where
It's the entire point of the story. You're calling the story bad because you missed what it was about. Genius.

> It's the entire point of the story. You're calling the story bad because you missed what it was about.
The entire story is about setting myself up to spend years theorizing about what *could* have been happening in that story with no actual way of confirming or invalidating any of these ideas because the entire foundation of the story is basically magic disguised as quantumy scientificness fuck?

Everything is explained if you look for it. Since you're apparently too arrogant and stupid to do that yourself, I even offered to explain it for you, but no, you won't have that either for some reason.
It's all confirmed within the VN. Maybe you should pull your head out of your own ass and consider for just a second that perhaps you might be wrong.
Did you even find out why Satoru's girlfriend doesn't recognise him at the end? The reason for that isn't even hard to find, it literally involves changing just one choice near the end and you get the answer.

> Did you even find out why Satoru's girlfriend doesn't recognise him at the end?
Because he's actually in that other nigger's body all along and never even gets to realize that fuck? And that's the problem with that ending as well, not jack nigger shit fuck is explained inside that fuckhole, you just die for no real clear reason.

>> No.12308619

Yes, it's all confirmed, it just makes you go on a hell of a journey to find all the information. That's the point of the story.
And what do you mean for no real reason? They kill you, that's why you die.
And you've misunderstood that ending as well. The player insert isn't Satoru, he just thought he was. Satoru and Enomoto switch bodies before the story even begins. The player insert was in Enomoto's body the whole time. The guy with the glasses you meet is Enomoto's mind in Satoru's body. Satoru's mind is effectively destroyed, right at the very beginning. Go and watch the opening scene, where he's climbing the clock tower and you can see his mind is replaced then.

The fourth dimensional being is the point of the story. It's not deus ex machina if that's the entire point of the fucking story. Two different time periods being viewed by a being from outside of our understanding of reality caused odd things to happen. That's the point. All of the things that happen are specifically caused by the interference of an outside viewer thinking that two different incidents are the same thing, because time has a different meaning for it.

999 was the worst thing I've ever read, I don't understand why people like it. Ever17 was very enjoyable once you got through the boring parts. Maybe if I played 999 without reading Ever17 first I would enjoy it, it was mostly the ending, plot twists and characters that ruined it. I really liked the gameplay (or whatever you call that mixing VN and escape the room elements thing), atmosphere (most of the game at least) and pseudosciecne crap though.

Do people who liked E17 usually like 999 too? Because it seems so.

Remember11 was pretty cool and I liked the whole no-ending go through tips to understand thing. I always go through every possible choice in VNs, it felt like I'm finally getting rewarded for my efforts. I wish more VNs did something like that, where every bad end gives you something.

Nobody's going to read this, but still:

>>12308624
You haven't read Never7, which is the source of most of your questions of Ever17.

Who kicked the can?
Nobody kicked the can, or you could say, 'somebody kicked the can'. Nobody kicked the can; rather, the can *was kicked*. As per Never7's Cure Syndrome, if people strongly believe the can has just been kicked, the can will have just been kicked - regardless of whether or not anyone was around to kick it.

Why is the life reading wrong?
Same thing, Cure Syndrome. Conflicting strongly held beliefs (that Coco was or wasn't in LeMU, and that Sora or the dog counted towards the total) influenced the life reading at the same time, causing a different truth to become real every time.

Why is Sora or whatever the fuck her name was suddenly able to exist without the computer?
Pretty sure they explained in-game that she has a robot body. They've had 17 years to prepare one for her.

Why is this nigger able to resurrect dead people?
Actually, Takeshi was never dead, just in a permanent state of unconsciousness. Remember, people with Cure Virus cannot die - not even by drowning. All drowning does is prevent them from becoming conscious again without external stimuli. The body was still very much alive. Furthermore, circumstantial evidence mainly from Remember11 implies that people only die when they realize they should be dead.

Why were takeshi and coco alive and well on the surface until the very moment fuckerface realized this was actually an impossible outcome, at which point one nig vanished and the other nig instantly decayed into a pile of fuck right on the spot?
Because time paradox. As for why they remained until it was noticed, it likely also has to do with Cure Syndrome and the death issue - the consequence is not true until it is believed to be true.

Why is the ending of this story absolute garbage?
Because you have terrible taste.

If you feel Cure Syndrome is a bullshit asspull and basically an excuse for plot hax...then I can only agree with you. I really dislike it myself, but Never7 made it canon and Ever17 and Remember11 go by the rules Never7 has set.
