Hell's yes, they did, and I'm in total support of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. However, the war has been over for over 60 years. And the Japanese people supported their nation (typically most people support their country don't they?), but they were unaware and not directly responsible for the sheer brutality and loss of life that the soldiers and politicians instigated. Most Japanese don't see a need for apology since their ancestors were not in power or had anything to do with these atrocities. The veterans who committed these crimes, on the other hand, DO have a lot to answer for.
