We should play Star Citizen together /jp/. I can take some of you on my Constellation.

Why would I want to play with a bunch of weebs?

/jp/ is pretty fun to play with. I used to play Haven and Hearth with them until the Russians destroyed us.

Russians never sleep. They just drink vodka, eat borscht, and try to kill you on online MMOs that cater to antisocial assholes like they are.

EVE Online is a good example. At least there, the Russians are getting their asses kicked.

what are you going to do to me on your constellation?

>> No.12260267

There isn't any point in me playing Star Citizen, it just seems like a monetized and polished version of Shores of Hazeron, and I burnt myself on that game.

>> No.12260278

I'm busy playing EQN Landmark (or I guess just Landmark now).

It's pretty fun and relaxing. I hope /jp/ plays it.

>> No.12260284

I never understood the clusterfuck about Star Citizen. Sure, Wing Commander was good, but all the followup games were shit. Freelancer does pretty much everything Star Citizen does, and I don't see Star Citizen adding anything that the X games haven't already done, albeit with better implementation.

Doesn't justify the hype.

EVE isn't half the spreadsheet simulator Aurora is.
I hope to one day develop my own spreadsheet-based roguelike for autistic neets to fap over.

Question /jp/. Does the 315p have a jump drive/unit?

The majority of spreadsheeting in EVE is for economy.

Combat is just follow whatever is trendy at the moment, FOTM, apply larger numbers, and whine vigorously.

It isn't a scam, but at the moment it looks like they got over their heads by wanting to add too many features, and the preview releases have ended up as a buggy mess because of it. It looks like it's going to take a really long time until the final verdict is in. They have time to fix stuff, but if they're like a lot of developers they'll spend all their time on adding new content without fixing the broken stuff.

Regardless of how it turns out, there's been somewhat more interest in space combat sims, with it and Elite: Dangerous being developed at the same time. Maybe it'll spread to Japan in a couple of years and this thread will actually belong here.

People are desperate to try to revive the genre, which died many years ago. Add that to the fact that Wing Commander didn't end up getting an online version, and you have a lot of people that grew up with the WC games wanting to throw money at it to hope their dream game can be created. That's why people were either too excited or too pessimistic before anything resembling gameplay was actually released. But that means that once the real game is released, people will be disappointed no matter how it turns out.

Hopefully, even if it turns out bad it will spawn more games of the type, since people will get a better idea of what works in a game like that.
