Kigurumi (着ぐるみ) is a kind of costuming where the player wears a full body skin suit (called a zentai or hadatai) along with an anime mask. The Japanese word "kigurumi" refers to any kind of full-body costume, but in this thread we're specifically looking for anime masks combined with skin-toned bodysuits - properly known as "animegao" kigurumi.

[pictured] a more exaggerated version that you could consider a halfway point between mascot and animegao kigurumi. From what I understand official events inspired hobbyists. Interested parties come from all sources. anime fans in general, cosplayers looking to be more accurate, fetishists for various reasons, furries who also like anime i guess, etc

That person is me. I used to post pretty much every kigurumi picture I could find without source, just because of the sheer number of pictures it was hard to source each one.

Now I only post pictures of kigs that I have express permission from.

As long as you post only one or two of their images every now and again they don't mind. Just not all of them constantly.

Azusa and Yui are very cute but they pretty much dominate the past few threads with very similar images. I know that one dude is only posting from people that allow it now but i don't see that as a good solution either. As a kig myself I don't care if my images were reposted as long as source was givin and I can only assume others would feel just the same. However I am not going to go out of my way to tell someone that they can repost. With only 3 different kigs being posted here it makes these threads dull and boring, it was much better before when there was new stuff to see in these threads every day which would then actually pick up discussion sometimes. It's an anonymous image board after all, anything should go that's on topic.

If someone hates their stuff being posted here then you could just limit them out rather than having people to "approve" themselves.

People seem more wary of unauthorized reposts in general. No one seems to want to post westerners, and japan is really finicky about that. A nice japanese site who's name I forget (girl with green hair?) recently went down/on hiatus because of images being reposted without permission. It kind of sucks that wanting to preserve the trust of our colleagues means that there's less fun sharing. And yeah, a lot of people don't want to be associated with 4chan because of the gossip that goes on and no one wants to be suspected of anon hate.

Here's a mask I've been working on for a little while. She's a full custom of Sayaka from PMMM. She's going to have solid hair, which is a completely separate piece. I think I've got the shape of the base shell reasonably decent, but the hair still needs quite a bit of work. I've just been concentrating on the base shell at the moment since I'll also be making Homura for myself using basically the same shell with a few changes (she'll have to have wigs instead of solid hair since her hair is quite long) and I want to have her done for a con in about a month (Sayaka is a commission for someone who isn't local and they won't be going to that con, unfortunately).

Does anybody see anything I should change on her?
