I have a problem here.
I have two visual boy emulators, one of which has "link" and the other doesnt.

When I go to file and open up a game (In this case, emerald), the no-link emulator goes alright, since I've played the game on there, but the link emulator always says it erased the data due to corruption or damage, and moves on to make a new game.

What do I do?

Not gonna happen. It's been a while since Enhanced got an update. It probably won't at this point, despite the fact that there are JP patches still being updated. They've updated the TD cast and have long since added DDC characters as well. There's one guy that's making a continuation of the Gensokyo Scenario, but that's still far from finished. There's even one patch that's separated Wind type from Electric, featuring some "rebalanced" puppets as well as some Gen 5 abilities (also comes with Johto). Sadly, they'll never be translated...

At this point, there are still four English Touhoumon games being worked on. First is Agastya's Emerald (Amethyst if we're going by the new Title Screen color scheme), which is more or less done; Second is an Unnamed 1.8 Fire Red hack being made by the guy that made YAFRH. The other two are not hacks but are being made in Pokemon Essentials: Faith & Prayer, which is up to its 3rd Demo, and Gaiden, which seems to be the most recent game started.

And all except for the first one will likely never get anywhere near to a completely playable state (not to mention that RPG maker games do not have a speed-up function and are thus utterly horrible).

And as for the first, you say that it is ``finished'', but for me, that means that it is dead. You can only replay the same game for so often before it loses its appeal completely.

speaking on behlaf of faith & prayer version, it most certainly does have the turbo button so we can shift into maximum hyperspeed - it effectively doubles the framerate counter and you play at like, ~120fps on a standard machine? i added it to the game specifically for people like us who have the need for speed.

You think that Japan doesn't take as much time, if not more, to make patches?

Look at how long the guy that's making the Gensokyo Scenario continuation patch is taking. Look at how many updates over the years ANY of the Touhoumon games, Japanese or not, have been made. Heck, look at how long Hemo's game is taking. Effort and time are not things you can just cut and paste.

I'd be lying if I said that things on the japanese side didn't take forever to make.

But the difference is that they tend to be more dedicated.

>> No.12213130

>>12213090
I think we can possibly attribute that to the Japanese side of the fandom being more dedicated in general when it comes to Touhou-related affairs. Though who knows, maybe the Japanese are just like us and have some people who take on projects like this and never finish them, but we just don't see them. I don't think that they who are most dedicated can really be given so easily to a collective group of people.
It's almost unfair to say that people in the Western Fandom aren't dedicated themselves; Afterall, if Agastya wasn't dedicated we'd probably have never seen a full release of Emerald, or the Battle Frontier, or even the in development contest scripts. And I know if I wasn't dedicated, I'd never have ported 1.8 to the Pokemon Essentials engine and started making Faith & Prayer.

I'm still early on. Chen and Nazrin for pickup. May add a fairy. Or medicine. I've gotta say though Ellen is pretty fun to use early game. Wanting is good stuff, just got a nugget.

Consider Momiji. Good physical beater.

Sanae's forms are interesting. Only the regular one keeps the defensiveness her chibi form has; both tech and attack actually have less durability then the chibi. It can be a pretty jarring role switch. Also, none of Sanae's eveolutions can utilize serene grace as well as, say, Tokekiss.
I've heard good things about tech Sanae, but I prefer attack. It's so nice always having a water type on the team, especially in Hoenn.

Kokoro in Faith & Prayer was made before Agastya and Co. added her to Shoddy Touhoumon. As such, she should have a very different base-stat set: http://pastebin.com/F7QE7Gvc Kokoro in F&P is more of a technical puppet, an annoyer of sorts. Since I've already added her and worked out her movepool and stats, and a trainer already has her (as well as a promotional Mystery Gift event), I don't really intend to change her.

Touhoumon Faith & Prayer Version is an RPG Maker XP Game developed on the user-made Pokemon Essentials Expansion, which has an overwhelming majority of the essential mechanics from Pokemon covered (and still in development). The differences are it's a more plot oriented game, so beating gym leaders and the elite 4 aren't "beating the game", locations are more open: Once you hit Cerulean City, you can go almost everywhere in Kanto (save for Cinnabar and Seafoam, you need Surf/Inflatable Raft for that). Not only as a result of the more open areas, but as well as the Day/Night System, puppet distribution is rather varied - I've done a check, and the pokedex count on my completed beta 3 save is 149 by Fuchsia City. A locations text file has been included so you know what puppets are included where. Being an RMXP game, it is based off no game, it is completely standalone on the RMXP engine, developed relatively from scratch (99% of the engine scripts were Essentials default, some were added and modified. All events in game and maps were done by my hand)

They're basically everywhere. Celadon sells all of the shards except Solar, you can find shards on puppets and as item balls, and then you can dig them up in the digging minigame in Digglet's Cave. It's very easy to get shards - and since this isn't being made off Fire Red, you can evolve your puppets as soon as you get shards (so basically, upon hitting Cerulean, since areas are open at that point).
Also, I heard that Emerald is going to be more giving when it comes to shards - they'll be available to purchase at Lilycove.

Faith & Prayer is a very ambitious project of mine, both as an experiment of what the RPG Maker XP Engine can handle, as well as how much I can actually do. Of course I have the drive to work on it, but that doesn't mean it'll be done anytime soon. Right now the game, Demo 3, ends at Fuchsia City, with no way to access Cinnabar or the Pokemon League. I've drafted out at least 15 different demos, with Version 1.0 going from the Kanto Region to Gensokyo for End/Postgame (Not a spoiler, it's one of my main selling points for the game).

The moves are what they are in Agastya's Emerald, so no, there are no trademark move. As for the animations, they don't even have proper animations yet because of how I handled the moves.
