Pretty neat. Agreed that the left hand parts can get a bit overbearing. It's really apparent in the 幽霊楽団 part. For that part, I think it might sound better if you switch to playing quarter staccato chords over the melody instead.

Also I think it would be cool if you vary the rhythm a bit in general. Try playing some arpeggiated tuplets to vary it up a bit or something.

I'm divided on this. On one hand it's neat and it's great for ambient style, I love how chill it is.

On the other, I agree with >>12194017. I don't feel much personality coming out from the tracks, and they didn't have much impact either. It's a bit too shapeless, I guess, whereas there are hints that shapeless was not what you were trying to go for.

Had the same block in the first few months, but that's cause you're only learning the fundamentals that gives you a basis to understand more complex stuff; hell by the time you get to anything remotely jazz you'll realize those restrictions are more guidelines. Theory's just a way of analyzing what people did by ear; so just keep experimenting with sounds and shit, the theory's just gonna help you put names to sounds you already dig

can't recommend an actual reading material though (still learning myself), but as an introduction here's the topics that's usually covered in first year theory:

- names + qualities of intervals
- major/minor scales
- circle of fifths/fourths
- triads
- Quality of chords (Aug,dim,M,m)
- Scale degrees
- Scale degree triads qualities
- Figured bass (inversions) /Roman numeral analysis
- Jazz spellings (I7, IM7, I7(b5),etc. )

- Cadences (IAC, PAC, H, PH, D, PL)
- Non chord tones (PT, U/LNT, APP, EP, PP, AP, Sus, Ret)
- Suspensions (2-3,4-3,7-6 (usually an inversion), 9-8)
- Rules for part writing triads (motion,voicing,doubling,common tones,etc)
- Inversion doublings (place A or dim chords in 1st and double the bass, etc)
- I6/4 chords (passing, pedal, neighboring, cadential) <--never really got this, would love it if someone could explain this

- Part writing 7th chords (Resolving tritones for half dim/full dim/dominant 7ths/non-dominant 7ths, etc)
- Secondary function (secondary leading tones (viio), secondary dominants)
- Diminished harmony (just started so no idea what the topics are)
- ii - V turnarounds
- Modulations (modulation v key change, pivot chord v chromatic, multiple common chords)
- Counterpoint (1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, etc)

Some people learn schenkerian analysis instead of roman numerals but never did so you could always give that a look too.

Just google up these topics, there's tons of first-year college handouts online for free that explain the topics rather well. There's also JAZZEDGE on youtube, which is p decent imo

hopefully more experienced people will chime in, have some questions to ask myself.

I have no doubt in my mind that this section is the most professional and laid back in the whole legion. I have specific rules for each drawing.
A light orange for the skin, leaving the face white except for between the brow and eye.
Behind them, some sort sort of Shadow thing.
One colour, either purple, yellow cyan or red for certain parts of the clothing,
then the background another colour, either purple etc.

about practicing on paper, it really depends on your budget. I tried doing paper a lot but it just annoyed me because erasing is a pain in the ass and theres no magic undo button. I got a wacom intuos ch680 (the medium size) for about ~$150 over amazon. for me thats not terribly expensive for something i plan on using for a long time. there are cheaper models out there and you can buy used as well. drawing on paper is really kinda discouraging for me because all your mistakes tend to stare right back at you. so far im happy with it and am finding it easier to stay motivated to draw on the tablet than with paper. that might just be me though. im in no postion to teach technique, but when i researched around it seemed the general consensus in the art community is do what works best for you, some people like starting on paper and others prefer tablet.

I use a Vistablet PenPad clone that I got from ebay for about 30 bucks, I see them around 40 nowdays on Amazon. They require a driver update and tweaks to Win 7's horrible default pen behavior, and I would swap in a NiMH battery stat because AAA alkalines can leak and ruin the cordless pen, but for what I paid it does its job well. I honestly prefer using it over the refurbed Wacom I got later.

They are nice OC chraracters (that also happen to be sort of "avatar characters"), and in my case personifications of some of my favorite features characters design wise, but you should be able to tell the difference between real people and fictional characters.
