It's not so much the girl as it is the route. There was potential for something great, for something that didn't involve horse bondage or Dalek fucking or anything like that, but then it was methodically ruined by forces outside your control.

For a long time it was Satoko for me. She was bratty, annoying, and pretty much the character that could push all of your buttons, especially with that laugh. It was smart writing now that I think of it. I was really glad when she died. I let out an audible "thank you." Until I did her chapter, that is. Then she kind of grew on me. Now she's one of my favorites. I'll be your Nii-nii anyday.

And she really did love Fuminori. I am not sure what you mean by selfish reasons. The whole bloom ending? Truthfully I don't remember it well enough to say much, but I don't recall that she was intending to do that from the start. Maybe I am wrong though
