As someone with a passing interest in guns and an abiding interest in Touhou, why are all the Touhou-with-firearms pictures I can find so cancerous? Each one I see, I can't shake the feeling of "hurr durr so tactical, so lethal, so trained, so badass", or even worse "oh man, imagine if an actual girl cared as much as I do about guns".

I don't know, I just find it a little distasteful.

In Gensokyo, attack power is determined by spiritual attributes and faith, not necessarily physical reality. It's possible that simply looking tactical increases the damage output against youkai. Either that, or Yuyuko didn't give her enough pocket money to pay for accessories: Hakugyokurou probably has a limited defense budget. I'm a little worried about the absence of Roukanken and Hakurouken, hopefully she didn't have to pawn them to afford the rifle.

Also she's still better off than >>12092327, where she couldn't afford ammunition.

I'm not sure. In general the ones I find most uncomfortable are the ones where the 2hu is sneering with power, or acting like they're proud of their guns, and the ones I like the most are the ones I've posted, where the 2hu remains cute and feminine despite being armed. After all, a gun isn't much different from a sword, and Youmu carries those around without it being weird.
