birds aren't snugly, if you touch them they get rejected by their bird family because you transfer your human smell
please don't touch a bird

I possess a large amount of pigeons. Pigeons are altricial birds and thus must spend a period of time in the nest. I handle the chicks in the nest all the time and the parents do not neglect or abandon them.

Or maybe pigeons are just good parents compared to other birds. Both male and female pigeons feed and nestle their young equally, and pigeons lack more pronounced sexual dimorphism that other bird species exhibit.

I have quail also but they are precocial birds and do not have a nesting period.

Probably, a lot of birds are. But ravens are the best, taking complete care of their young for up to 5 years. That's about the equivalent of 25 years for a human.

Well, it's kinda true that in general birds (like singing birds) don't abandon their childs if someone touches them, but you still shouldn't do that because the bird's mom and dad will think of it as dangerous and thus will try to relocate their nest which takes time and effort and thus harm the bird family. But there are also a lot of birds like hawks that would abandon their childs by the slightest danger.

How can they even walk when their legs are so thin? There's no way they have full sets of leg muscles. When their brains send the ``walk'' signal it will just dead-end somewhere below the spinal cord because there's no muscle to respond to it.
