I might have older versions of the browsers, but:
In Firefox there's a "Link" button on the left that gives you an URL.
In Chrome it just comes up in the address bar for me.

The address you get will look something a bit like one of these:
http://i.imgur.com/CFPrTOY.png

whatever you end up with, the coordinates are the first set of digits:
43.002023, 141.694798

there's probably an easier way to do it with plugins and shit, but I never bothered with that.

>the time before planned obsolescence
That time has existed since the 50s. The shift from electronics to moe/anime/manga entertainment most likely has another reason. Outside of Japan, most people didn't know a thing about Akiba before it became the otaku mecca and put it on everyone's map.

>The only thing left is PC building, and I expect that to be dead in 10 years as well.
This will actually happen as PCs are getting miniaturized and being integrated into screens and what not but it's likely there will still be a niche segment for video editing/high-end gaming rigs.

New markets are opening up for electronics enthusiast with the rise of drones and miniature robots so not everything is lost.

That's cool.
I'm gonna give you a few tips, but I know that can come off discouragingly and as condescending, so maybe you'd rather not read this if you're confident:

- You can avoid flickering fluorescent (and similar) lights like in this >>12064262 video and this >>12064255 one by adjusting your framerate - this is based on the electrical frequency of the area you're in. Japan uses 50Hz in some areas and 60Hz in others (for some fucking stupid reason).
- For low-light/night, try using a lens that really lets you open up the aperture, otherwise you'll have to bump up the ISO/gain and it gives you grainy footage like this >>12064238 one.
- This is more minor, but you hold your camera kinda wonky on the train ones here >>12064240 and here >>12064262. Try lining up the corners of your frame with the tracks.

But don't let me discourage you. I really do appreciate you sharing your stuff and I think a lot of other /jp/sies appreciate it too!

>> No.12064309

>>12064295
yeah i noticed it when i was on the airport, a bit late at that

lenses are so ridiculously expensive here, i only have a kit 18-140 lens
i'll probably import one sooner or later

i think it's mostly because the speed is so high, the whole picture gets wonky

i'm gonna go back there for sure, but for now this is all i have, except for longer versions

>> No.12064453

>>12064309
Try a prime! They tend to be a little cheaper and they're great for low light. Street photography becomes a lot of fun with them too, since you're forced to get up close to people to get a nice shot. plus, with a small prime lens, you don't tend to look as creepy to strangers.

>i think it's mostly because the speed is so high, the whole picture gets wonky
Ah, that might actually be the rolling shutter, sorry. I've read that you can fix it a bit in post production, but I've never come across it much to begin with.

Feel free to share your longer pieces, you can drop them onto youtube, or maybe a file host like mediafire instead.
Again, thanks for sharing, hope you stick around.

From Gibson himself:

>Modern Japan simply was cyberpunk. The Japanese themselves knew it and delighted in it. I remember my first glimpse of Shibuya, when one of the young Tokyo journalists who had taken me there, his face drenched with the light of a thousand media-suns—all that towering, animated crawl of commercial information—said, "You see? You see? It is Blade Runner town." And it was. It so evidently was.
