Why do normalfags like writing about Boob Wars so much? I've never seen a nukige pop on this many gaming sites. Even Jim Sterling reviewed the first one.

lol boob wars xD

Somewhat like The Maiden Rape Assault ~ Violent Semen Inferno, it has a very silly title.

>> No.11994628

It's the same reason there will be dozens of hour long videos explaining that the PC port of Deus Ex: The Fall is shit. There is a subset of people who want to identify as gamers/nerds but don't have the time to play games or do nerdy shit. They need to be informed via written word.

It's the same thing when you see them link some event with "so this just happened" or "so this is a thing", they have no ability to process or digest anything so they have to look on with amazement that something they don't understand dare exist.

They'd be a lot happier if they just gave up on this act and started playing golf and watching football, both of which are entirely respectable pastimes.

>> No.11994638

>>11994628
Yet most people who are into golf and football don't have the time to play either, or even the time to watch people play either, so they just look at the scores and hear commentary. There isn't much difference.

They think it's cute and funny to talk about this stuff and then reassure people they don't like it as they fap.

>> No.11994734

>>11994638
You know after I wrote that post up I was thinking the same thing. However I think these people are different from someone who casually follows golf and then watches the Masters. These aren't people who check out EVO or even casually follow games. They constantly need news streamed directly to them.

Usually a guy who watches a little golf won't try to come off as an expert, but I'm sure 80% of the opinions Beyond: Two Souls were based on watching a Let's Play of it. They're almost equivalent to a person who has a bunch of golfing equipment and keeps up on various local tournaments to supplement his own falsified identity as a "golfer".

Certainly you have idiots who just repeat commentary and don't know anything about the sport, but I feel like a site named "geekparty" is catering DIRECTLY to those types of people. I don't think I even have much of a problem with someone having casual interest in these things. I have a casual interest in lots of things. However my problem is the media channels and people who dedicate themselves to maintaining false interest in things for some social reason.

>> No.11994833

>>11994734
I think it mostly has to do with social media. People want to present an image of themselves that makes them look fun and interesting, nerdy but not too nerdy. They care more about the way people see them then actually enjoying things. If you look at the writer's facebook it's really obvious she's that kind of person.

>> No.11994877 [DELETED]

Because a funny game about boobs makes for an interesting conversation topic (AKA blog post).

Ya'll going into the whole casual/hardcore gamer thing are seriously overthinking it IMO. The game is just a fun thing to post about.

Also I liked the DFC girls in the first game. The booby monster nation can sink for all I care.

>> No.11994907

It's called Boob Wars. I'm pretty sure that's all there is to it.

>> No.11994938

My favourite video games are Zelda, Pokemon, and Skyrim. I play them on my boyfriend's consoles 'cause he's such a nerd, but I'm becoming quite the nerd myself now. I even read articles from IGN and Polygon. My bf and I are going to play Dark Souls together next.

Those kinds of people are real nerds dude.

It's just a different type of nerdly way of operating. Like they'll spend 500 hours on Skyrim and then move on to the next game or series they'll spend 500 hours on.

A good chunk of people don't like to get balls deep in more than one game/series at one time. Pokemon, Zelda, and Skyrim might be the only things they ever personally need.

It's not a bad thing to do, it's just different.

There's nothing wrong with playing one/few series intensely (even popular ones), but those kind of people don't do that. They don't 100% games, they don't speedrun them, they probably don't know 100% of the story or know much about the mechanics. They play them occasionally when they have nothing else to do. They play them when they're forced to by their boyfriends. And they only play whatever flavour of the month game is out on new consoles. Hardly someone that wants to /really/ enjoys games.

>> No.11994991

>>11994977
Yeah, sadly. A lot of them are just articles that comment on other articles too. Or pure conjecture based on rumours they read. The Youtube Gaming Personalities/Reviewers are all pretty much the same with maybe a dozen-ish exceptions.

>>They play them occasionally when they have nothing else to do.

Remember when entertainment was that thing you did just because you had nothing else to do?

I know what you guys mean, but I just see it as like... there are so many other things in life you can do besides PLAY VIDEO GAMES to pass the time. But if someone consistently chooses video games to waste their personal free time on, then yeah they're a legit game nerd. Even if they're playing shitty Call of Duty 14 hours per day.

Otherwise it's just going to devolve into the whole "I'm a better nerd than you are" thing and that thing is just goofy to me now I guess.

Fuck off, you fucking normie (95% chance you're some American girl based on how you type). We really don't need to read you playing devil's advocate for this. There's a clear distinction between hobbies and passions and casual interest and it's fine to be any of them, but pretending to be passionate about things you know little-to-nothing about is just insipid.

It's because making fun of "lol japan" is a thing to do in "nerd culture" (or wannabe nerd culture depending on your view). "Look at this japanese game with the silly title! Would you believe that it's full of censored static images of 2D sex? People actually fap to this lol?" It is a way for people to prove that they are nerdy enough to know about japanese stuff that's outside the mainstream while letting them keep their distance from it to retain their image "i-it's not like I actually like nukige or anything, I just downloaded too much."

>> No.11995036 [DELETED]

>>11995009
I'm not playing devil's advocate. All I'm saying is that the fact they know "little-to-nothing about it" doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. You don't need autistic knowledge about something in order to genuinely love it.

It's the name. Even though there are a lot of games like it, it just takes a perfect storm of a good name, remarkable content and the right spark of attention to launch something into the normiesphere as a novelty. Like Rapelay.

Do you really think there is an interesting conversation to be had about Boob Wars? I don't. I think this is generally no different than Doge for these people. You pick something that pops, make your post, and hope the ad revenue rolls in.

I actually knew a guy who wrote for a site like this, he asked me for a few examples of epic RPGs and before I knew it he wrote a top five list of them, when I don't think he'd played a single one.

You're giving them too much credit when you think they're more than some Internet-Equivalent of sweatshop workers. These people are generally incapable of caring about anything which makes them so good about writing pablum all day.
