I feel very strange taking the clothes off other peoples dolls. I don't know why but it's always felt weird for me despite being in the hobby for almost 10 years.

The main staining was on the feet and shins. It almost looks like a sharpie had been marked directly on the skin! I am using paste benzoyl peroxide to remove the stains.

I checked the stains were this morning and they're noticeably lighter with a little bit of swelling in the vinyl. Btw the swelling is normal though and will fade in a few days.

Here's a pic of the darkest feet stains. The whole leg has a kind of blue cast do it from wearing black thigh highs.

It's not very radical, and it's a very easy (if not tedious) process .
there are plenty of dolls with prerooted hair (like pureneemos). I was mainly trying to see if anyone had done custom jobs and all that, since the results can be cute as hell. Most communities that have reroots and stuff are mostly monster high or barbie, which I'm not interested in. I've only seen a few custom pureneemos, for example, and it took a good bit of digging to find.

I know we have a few people on this board doing creative stuff and all, so I was hoping someone else had custom girls or boys, so I could talk about some specifics with someone. (would it be the same amounts of hair expected for a pureneemo or obitsu as it would for the western dolls, and would it be best to use the glue method, or the string method specifically for obitsu, since the headcap is easily removable on them.)

It's just really hard (impossible without comissioning) to find a wig in the specific color and size I was looking for, since it's very niche. I've checked a lot of places (leeke, ebay, luts, DoD, some others), and most either are too large, not the right color, or have too short of bangs, are fur, or a combination.

Honestly it takes hours of work, and will probably cost just as much and if it looks sloppy or you do it wrong it won't fall right.

What kind of head are you looking at? If you could show what kind of wig you want I'm sure someone could help. It's not really an easy process to reroot. It takes an ass-long time and you really need a good knowledge of styling synthetic hair, and hair rooting to make it work. I've rerooted other dolls, I've rerooted MLP,but when it came to a head it was not nearly as easy.

I feel uncomfortable taking my doll's clothes off, because I think of her as a tiny little girl, and I'm a gentleman (or, at least try to be).

The poor things arrive almost naked, see, and you have to be the one to clothe her. She may be mine alone, but that does not give me - and sure as hell nobody else - the right to shamelessly grab and grope her all over. She is delicate, and must be treated as such.

I make sure she has somewhere warm, but not hot, and clean, but not dull, to reside in. I make sure to give her the attention she deserves and to always be gentle and caring when handling her.

I don't really see any issues here and I doubt anyone else who has a doll, or anything else they really care about - their car, their house, their favourite teddy bear even, would. There is nothing stopping someone from holding feelings for something that isn't a human and I can't understand people who think otherwise.

I love my family (what's left of it anyway), I love my pets (as dumb and furry as they are) and I will not listen to anyone who says I can't love my doll.

It may not be the same love one has for their family or other living things, sure, but that doesn't make it worth less.

Busts come in small, medium and large for DD, and then there's the dynamite version (DDDy) which only come in twin-turbo tittymonster size, which I think is what we are looking at here.

There is the DDS (sister) versions which are a bit shorter and maybe have some other small differences, they'd probably be the place to start for your loli.

Finding clothes for dolls is easy, finding exact replacements is nearly impossible though.

Depending on the condition of the rest of her outfit, you could use it and find new shoes that are close enough to work, or worst case scenario find her a new set of clothes to wear.

Search around using terms like "Azone" "pureneemo", "1/6", "doll clothes", etc and rummage around for things you like.

What scale are you interested in?

I love my Azone Madoka, but I'm a diehard Madokist so it's only natural. If you're not really into the character Azone dolls represent you're probably not going to enjoy them as much as a Volks-original doll.

And this really is not the hobby to be a jew with. You are better off spending a little more and getting exactly what you want than spending less and buying a pile of plastic regret that stares at you while you sleep.

I'm a fan of soft pastel colours, fluffy, frilly outfits and bright, shining eyes and richly coloured hair. Brown eyes with an all-black outfit isn't for me. Maybe you could try blood red though, that might work.

I could be wrong, but I always thought that the people who say they dislike Azone are more talking about their large scale 1/3 dolls, because if you're going to spend that much money you might as well get a better brand. I don't like the larger dolls but I love the 1/6 Pureneemos (like the one in your picture). They're good and have plenty of fans. Just remember that you can't change their wigs or eyes, same for the other Azone dolls, though you can change their outfits of course.

Yep, the Idolmasters and Melty are. I think it looks a lot better than the regular two-piece model and doesn't really hurt the poseability at all either, since there's the same joints and the bust piece is quite flexible. Only downside is that finding the bodies in the first place is very hard and replacement bust pieces in different sizes don't really exist.

Try going outside, you have incandescent lights right? Human eyes are adopted to the more blue spectrum of natural light, and cameras attempt to mimic that. If you have a high red spectrum like indoor lighting, then it will appear darker. Your eyes can adopt by expanding a pupil, but a camera can't. If its cheaper camera like you indicated, then it will probably pick up IR as well, making the pic even darker. IMO, its not your camera, but your lighting. The quality is not great, but it shows what I am talking about. Pic was taken with a cheap flip phone, just with careful angles to allow lighting.

The only warm I work with is when I am chasing wildfires, and that has a different goal again. With the eyes you have now, she looks like like she has black holes for eyes. Mako aren't bad, but they definitely don't have the depth EDs do. Eyes in DDs really make-or-break it. Makos will be a step up from glass but EDs will really hit it out of the park so to speak. Especially, the bigger Makoeyes get, the more flat they look.

Speaking of cameras, since I just ordered my first Volks doll and the only current cameras of any kind that I have are 4 low quality cameras (1 desktop webcam, 2 laptop webcams, 1 shitty tablet cam).

Look for how much the Canon EOS M goes for around where you live. Might be a bit over $200 but it's definitely the best value for money DSLR available right now. Both of the kit lenses are very good, you get an external flash in the package and the hotshoe supports all Canon flashes that are easily available for cheap. Has a larger sensor than most small mirrorless cameras, so image quality is identical to Canon's more expensive DSLRs (650/700D).

Another bargain is the Sony RX100 (mark I). It has a smaller sensor but larger than most compact cameras, apparently a very good lens and it's small enough to be pocketed. But it's more expensive than the EOS M and doesn't offer as good image quality, so if you don't definitely need the compactness, I'd go for the Canon.

Here, I took this for you. It's the back of a DD's head. These are held in with hot glue because I don't move them and I hate when they fall out. Other people use putty, which gives you an easier time adjusting. They can be moved in any direction. Some of my other DDs have putty in them but it takes a lot more work imo to get them to stay because the eyes don't sit in anything they just fill a hole.

The back opens up, i personally use those silicone ear plugs as putty to hold the eyes in.

My only complaint is that the silicone gives a little bit of an oily residue that you might need to clean off the eyes since it makes them less shiny. Other than that i feel like they are safe to use and are a lot easier to use instead of using blutak.

I doubt Ume-sama had any direct input into the doll's design, but she did play a role in designing Madoka, so obviously some of that style will travel through to the doll representing her. Some people dislike painted-on eyes but I don't think it's necessarily better or worse than resin etc eyes if you're not planning on swapping or changing them around.

She also has a slight blush painted on to her cheeks and she's just the cutest thing. People say Azone's aren't meant to be played with as much and that's quite true at least in Madoka's case (for example: how her shoes go together) but she's so adorable I just can't help but fondle her all over with my clumsy man-hands.

If you have velcro you can cut small strips of the scratchy side and adhere it on her head to keep it in place better.

You could also use a rubber band on the head itself and the rubber would probably prevent it from falling off. Only issue is if it gets old it might stick to the head itself.

Thanks for your advice. I appreciate your efforts to help but as it turns out I was going full retard and had a small part of the elastic band turned inside out at the back of the wig which prevented the cap from going past the widest part of the head and staying on, if that makes sense.

Guess that's what happens when you do a full day's work, then 3 hours in a university lecture theatre, then drive 45 minutes home in near total darkness (headlight bulb picked a good time to shit itself) and _then_ try and assemble a doll.

Only issue I have now is one-piece plastic boots that apparently need to be warmed up with a hair dryer to make them pliable enough to slip over the feet. I've been bald for the last 10 years as if I'm gonna have a fucking hair dryer.

Does anyone know a person with pediophobia (fear of dolls/humanoids)? My step mother has it. She refuses to come into my house when dad visits and either hovers around outside or in the car because I have my dolls on display in the living room. So I put a sheet over the display cabinet to hide them but even then she's still skittish just knowing they are there. She's a really nice person literally everywhere else though.

The Rei head is just the normal 02 head. You could always get another and get her painted to look like Rei too. The old DD faceups really are lame, you could have one that looks like Rei but much nicer painting, and not ruin the original.
