You should really look at alternatives. Easily accessible and able to be mixed into various foods, I think diphenhydramine would be good for this. Don't use too much though or else she'll know something's up because higher doses make your body feel very heavy and that would be incredibly alarming to someone not expecting it. You just want enough to make her a bit drowsy so she'll fall asleep easier. You can also go the other way and use so much that she'll pass out, but then you're risking heart problems and other things.

Since it's bitter, you could probably mix it into something (the capsules are easy for this) that is similarly bitter, so the bitter aspect doesn't stand out in something that doesn't match, like pudding. A darkly roasted coffee would probably work alright, or even better a short or two of espresso. This can help keep the dosage fairly consistent because espresso is pretty usually only a couple of ounces and will ensure that she's actually ingesting however many milligrams of drug you put in there.

I don't know how much heat affects it, so you could probably look at some kind of ice cream too, specifically a coffee ice cream if it's available. The possibilities are really endless.
