I'm currently playing some level entry otome games like The Second Reproduction and Yo-Jin-Bo. Though it seems that the story is very light for both of them. I've been looking for an otome game that's pretty long.

Speaking of Otome games I picked up one yesterday after I saw one in the recommended games list on EGS. I haven't really read any before and didn't have much interest either but someone had written it was pretty interesting, even for a guy. Read two routes so far and it has been a great read. Really funny and cute at times as well. Very impressive for a freeware doujin. Game is http://vndb.org/v13321

I suggest you nerds give it a shot too. I personally found it more enjoyable than most of the moege I've read

The reason why we don't talk about translated games isn't elitism. Those games are mostly several years old and already discussed to death. It's not even a rule. Everyone is free to talk about whatever VN he likes (with the exception of non-Japanese games, of course). The question is if you get replies.

It might be not directly related, but the increase of people who make post with a ".. even though it's translated" sentence is really annoying. Games don't turn into shit because of a translation. That all started as a joke which wasn't even funny in the first place. The only people who took it seriously are those who rage about some sort of imaginary elitism. You guys are really charging an open door.

Finally beat that fucker at the end of IMM trial. That was fun, hopefully there will be more challenging fights in full game. Warming up to these system changes too.

so I haven't played any VN's yet but I'm looking to start. Any recommendations for the first VN I should go with? I'm open to just about anything as long as it has a good storyline. I'd also prefer something in English but easy Japanese is also alright. (Or Japanese with furigana).

Download ITH as a standalone, then. When I'm playing a VN I find it a bit harder than usual to read, I run the program, put the text to be in my clipboard, paste it in a random website, and check words I don't know using rikaisama, sometimes doublechecking with the sanseido dictionary.

ITH is what you're looking for, then. There are other programs like ChiiTrans or Translation Aggregator that can translated highlighted sections of text from ITH.

Like the above posters said, it's best used only for kanji or word lookups. Any more and it becomes the usual gibberish.

Playing Lovely x Cation 2 because I'm bored to death and don't know what I should read otherwise. It's actually pretty nice so far, pretty relaxing. Also one of the few games who uses furigana in a proper way. Nice little detail. .

One question though; does anyone know how I can get all these addons? The Hibiki site is sadly closed for foreigners.

Talking about Eushully, in my humble opinion, their game with the best gameplay was the dungeon series (Himegari and Kamidori), did they announce if they will continue the series later on or they'll go full retard like madou / keep going zero/verita and now la dea more rpgish than strategy.

Himegari and Kamidori are not same "series". Kamidori is Dir Lyphna game (same world as IM, Milkety Union is located at southern part of continent). Himegari is stand-alone, not connected to other games at all.

Finished the Hashiera chapters. They were the most boring part of the game so far, mainly because of having to play the same scenes multiple times to get all the different CGs. At least I still had some level advantage, so the battles were easy enough.
Chapter 7's last dungeon and the following scenes more than made up for it, and the chapters gave some nice info on Hashiera herself, and fortified her position as my favorite heroine. Shutaife(what's the correct romanization?) was pretty funny at times, and seeing another side of the majin made the reading worth it.

On another note, Rita's voice makes my dick hard.

All the Eushully games except Kuutei Senki happen in the sme world/setting. And Himegari was chronologically during Verita also few years after Kamidori.
ah screw it, heres the pic of the timeline from the Verita guidebook. Arterial goes the very begining before the whole world crashing shit happens and Madou Koukaku is ~100 years after Zero. Thats the full timeline right now.

Isn't Senshinkan supposed to be coming out in less than a week? I just read the trial few days ago and I have to say it was more interesting right from the beginning than I was expecting. I have to say I'm actually quite hyped.

Also read Hello Lady and IMM trials. I liked Hello Lady and it was alright but I just got a feeling it won't be as interesting as comyu and especially ruitomo. I'll still read it when it comes out for sure so I hope I'm wrong.
IMM trial really left me wanting more on the story/ero/character interaction/introduction wise. You couldn't really get much taste of the story with a short prologue like that. I'm not sure I like the UI either and I hope they improve it for the final release. So far the combat seems better balanced than what it was in Verita. I really feel like that the rhythm game element has no place in a battle system of a game like this though and I hope I don't have to get interrupted by it every 30 seconds in the full game.

Yeah it was very different in that kind of sense. There's no more of that common curse kind of thing that kept all the main characters together like in ruitomo and comyu. In my opinion that was one of the best things about those VNs and it was one of the reasons why it was so interesting. MC soloing around just doesn't have the same impact as it did in comyu for example. With the whole proper 'plot' approach it might just end up one of those VNs that make you go "meh" in the very end when the writer couldn't get every piece of the plot, setting and characters perfectly together in a satisfying package. It's a lot easier to get a satisfying conclusion in a more vague plot and setting. But that's just me probably being overly pessimistic.

Would this thread be a good place for troubleshooting questions? I've run into a problem that's driving me fucking insane.

I recently installed the HD remake of Nanami to Konomi, but SiglusEngine a shit and I can't play it. I've used so many different cracks and regionless hacks, and the Siglus process is always just running in the background with no game window in sight. My resolution is slightly smaller than the default for the game, but I know it can be changed...is it my screen's fault or am I shit out of luck for other reasons?

Posted this in the nukige thread and haven't gotten a response, and I figure you guys would be more knowledgeable with this.

Finally finished Bomb Girlfriend after procrastinating for a while. It was quite fun and a shame that it didn't last longer. The comedy was easily the strongest point and made me laugh all the way through, so it's a shame it didn't last a bit longer, though I guess that's to be a expected from a doujin game.

I liked that it was extremely retarded and ran with it, although I guess the comedy might come off as obnoxious and immature to some people since it's filled with gratuitous English swearing and political jabs. It's not everyday that you get to fuck a living bomb, though.

Umm, its not about luck. You just need to get your control gauge to leftmost position and use Enemy Search 20-30 times. Also, it should be your first visit to location, replays dont work.

Was watching a stream of someone playing gogo nippon by someone who wasn't into VA in general so I already knew I was in for a bad time. All of a sudden the chat goes crazy saying stuff like "omg this is a loli sim" "where is the hentai"

There was a huge flood of chat spam and I tried to tell them that this wasn't even considered a game. It is a visual novel that was made in japan specifically for foreigners who wanted to go to japan and wanted to know about somethings about it. It is an entry level VA and a bad one at that. There was absolutely nothing to go apeshit over or make fun of. They were latterly pointing things out and spamming about it because they are unfamiliar with japanese culture in general. Of course they would not hear it because the chat was spamming so fast. It just frustrated me so much that there are uncultured normies that still exist. Equip 手加減の腕輪　and go to one of the low level areas. Turn every skill except the one you want to raise off and then just set it on auto. If you don't want to churn through your mp/tp potions then turn them off to and then when you run out run away and heal either by a feather of healing or just leave the area.

Also this only works for attacks, if you want to raise heal/buffs you have to do it manually.

Only a masochist could get resurrection to 100.

Actually MK isn't overally that long. But it has no really much influence on the story of Verita/Memoria and only other IM character making cameo is Rekshumi during the non-canon magic route. Although I really need to replay Verita to check the Melkia stuff in it if there is relations/hints. It's more important to have played MK in perspective of IM2 as it has quite bit of Melkia stuff in it and correlates nicely at the stuff in MK. To me MK is pretty much implication that Eushully is also working on IM2 Remake.

The 18+ version is already out so it will feel incomplete.
It's not at the level of the Fate franchise which can just sell like that with some extra CG and voice acting plastered on it, especially since Eustia was pretty unpopular in Japan.
