>Gensokyo
>Yukari is bound in ropes and on her knees alongside her fox

Even if Yuyuko did so much as sneeze on a rabbit, Gensokyo would've been wiped off the map by superior Lunar tech.

>> No.11873014

>>11872973

Couldn't have Yuyuko just used her ability to kill every single living being in the lunar capital? It's not like they would pinpoint it to her either; they seemed perfectly fine with letting two strangers wander around.

Also, Eiren believes Gensokyo to be her home. I'm going to naturally assume Eiren is stronger than her disciples since she created the Lunar Capital and possibly quite a few of its technologies.

Not to mention; Reimu, Suwako, Kanako, the Dragon God, Shinki, Remilia, Suika, ect would all give them quite a bit of trouble.

>> No.11873024

>>11873014
Eirin is probably the strongest around.

She's the matriarch of the Lunar society and created it in its entirety.

Magic is also the Moon's power, and Lunarian magic is known to be far more complex and powerful than Earth magic (Same goes for gods).

Yuyuko probably doesn't have the ability to kill off numerous extremely powerful beings that have most likely existed for tens of thousands (In Eirin's case, millions) of years.

Also, to the last statement. Lunarians specialize in sealing gods. The rope they tied Yukari up with was the same rope they use to seal gods. They won't have much trouble at all.

>> No.11873090

>>11873024

I'll just assume Eiren and the Dragon God won't take sides since they have relations to both Gensokyo and the Lunar Capital.
Lunarian magic is far superior to Earth magic, but it seems like they invoke the same gods(Reimu and Yorihime seem to know most of the same gods, but the wiki page states that Yorihime summons god under the Lord Enma, which I'm assuming is more Buddhist/Hinduist than Shinto beliefs? Probably?)
Then again, it seems like the Lunarians did seal a few gods in fear of retribution.
Yorihime and her sister are the strongest beings in the Lunar Capital most likely, so Yuyuko could kill off quite a few minor characters before... being killed? Double killed?
It seems that the Lunarians only sealed a few gods that they were sure to cause retribution; we don't know the circumstances under which they did it either.

And also, Yukari shows no fear of the Lunarians. She's literally so bored she conjures up a random invasion force consisting of two people who care; Ran and herself. She openly declares it, goes on with it, all to steal some random treasures for shits and giggles.

Due to whatever reason, it seems that they won't harm each other.

Lunarians are better because they are on the American moon. Gensokyo is a Japanese land. America put a flag on the moon and now the moon is part of the best country of the earth.

America bombed Japan so hard they broke and became gay. Thus Gensokyo is full of gay and weak people. But moonland is pure and strong like the land of the free.

>> No.11873107

>>11873090
The invasion force was at first the many, many ancient Youkai attacking roughly a thousand years ago (If you really want to count that).

The second one was the whole-bunch of Gensokyo characters (Reimu & friends).

Eirin doesn't have much attachment at all to Gensokyo, she's pretty much there for Kaguya's sake entirely. Kaguya likes living on Earth in comparison to the Moon (Possibly bitter or she just enjoys it).

You're thinking purely of Yorihime in terms of magic. Yorihime summons Lunar gods (I'm assuming the same as you) whilst Reimu uses Gensokyo gods and the like.

Lunarian magic is mostly seen through some descriptions of their mighty technology as well as Eirin's charms and what she's done in the past.

Lunarians win in brute strength, but that's literally all they have. There's no cunning or intelligence there, just arrogance and violence. Yukari obviously doesn't want to start an open war with them because it would most likely cost most of Gensokyo as a result, but Silent Sinner (and that one book I can't remember the name of) showed that she stays three steps ahead and makes sure Eirin knows about it.

>> No.11873127

I thought it was said that the invasion force was weaker than current Gensokyo? Since Yukari herself said they're a LOT more youkai now. I'm assuming all of those who were in Gensokyo back then were those who have began to lose faith/belief and were starting to disappear. Most of the stronger youkai were probably still in the ordinary world chillin' and eating people.

Second one, Marisa/SDM/Yuyuko/Youmu weren't really planning to invade. Well, besides Remilia but she got tired after losing a danmaku battle. Marisa states that they can't win no matter what, Reimu says that she would win if she were the good guy, Yukari states that the moon's forces are superior, ect.

Wasn't Kaguya expelled from the moon? Also, that slaying of all the moon visitors is probably a sore point.

Also, Lunar gods are probably stronger than Gensokyo gods.. Probably? Or they might be the same, as Gensokyo is those who have begun to lose faith move in. Not sure about Lunar gods.

There's honestly too much ambiguity in powers and abilities. Straight up it seems like the Lunarians have an advantage, but who knows. Gensokyo has quite a few reality and planet wreckers as well.

>> No.11873133

>>11873127
For the first one: Much of the youkai in the first invasion force were ancient youkai. Pretty powerful dudes, but they don't have any names. The difference between the first and the second invasion was that the second invasion wasn't entirely no-names. Of course they're going to be stronger.

Kaguya was exiled from the Moon, but Eirin was sent with some emissiaries because they wanted her back. Kaguya decided that she liked Earth more than Moon so Eirin stayed with her because they're besties.

Lunarians seem to be completely different on a whole level to Gensokyo. None of them are youkai (In the sense that if you stop beliving in them, they go away) and Eirin has some pretty broken technology, she fiddles with quantum mechanics in her spare time.

You can't really fuck with a civilization that plays with quantum mechanics as if it were just another science.

It's not like they have no inteligence or cunning. They used to have a madness-inducing rabbit and a telepathically connected army. The whole reason Lunarians live on the moon is because it has no impurity, and thus life/death/age don't exist in the traditional sense - it's a "Pure Land". Yuyuko explicitly can't invite people to death while they're in the Netherworld because the Netherworld is also Pure Land.

As Netherworld natives, Yuyuko and Youmus' lack of impurity is the only reason they were able to sneak into the Lunar Capital without being detected in the first place.

I can't answer that, as anything I would say would be my opinion rather than reliable fact.

But if my opinion is really that interesting, here's what I think : the lunarians are almost immortal, because they're living in a pure land, and are all gods somehow.
They cheated a bit, but unlike the hermits who are constantly stalked by the death reaper (forgot its name), they're free. Because unlike the hermits and the shikaisen, they didn't really cheated death.
However, Kaguya, when she drank the Hourai, became a perfect immortal, and thus did ot abide by the rules. I think the Lunarians aren't really happy about dying, but they accept it. Kaguya cannot die, so she's an abomination. A living blasphemy against natural order.
To put it simply, Lunarians are hardcore gamers, going as far as living on the Moon in order to live longer. While Kaguya just cheats.

That's only my opinion, so it's probably extremely flawed.
But that's how debates work anyway, so go on, shoot my theory down.
