Of course you can listen to Western music.
Shitloads of nihon artists love bands like Queen, Kiss, King Crimson, Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, etc.
And why not, they are good.

Mystia and Kyouko started their own punk band even.

Find a way to sue the company you work for. Then you'll have enough cash to fund your NEET lifestyle for a while.

I was just like you once OP.

But then I decided to quit my job and move back in with my mom.

Now I'm getting drunk on a Monday morning, living it up NEET style.

It's really easy.

You should still plan to do something for some sort of income though, even if it is just taxpayer neetbux. You could even be a freeter.

Why go back into being a failure. Think about the pros and cons, don't do something you'll regret for months/years.

I for one would gladly be in your position.

I'm not sure how to go about.

If you are going to NEET at least accept and embrace the fact that you are a failure. Thinking you are not a failure while being a NEET is just sad and embarrassing and when the realization comes that you have failed, you will get depressed. Just embrace it from the beginning and it becomes so much easier.

Being a neet isn't a failure. Though, if you keep worrying about something then it's just your own fault. Do something to it. Passive income is a great way to make money without doing "trade my time for money work", but it will probably take some time as well as a will to fail to succeed. Having said that, passive income is one of the best way, if not THE best way, to make money. Create a website which provides lots of value to it's visitors. Create a good product that you can easily deliver to potential customers (for example, abusing the accessibility that internet provides). Create a service that provides authentic service to customers (one that customers even in hindsight can see as a great service instead of a random company just trying to make as much money as possible at the expense of the customer.)

Developing the skills for passive income takes time ― several years is not out of the question ― but in the long run, passive income is much easier than trading your time for money. Once you have one source of passive income (e.g. advertisements on your blog with great content) you can work on another source of passive income (e.g. writing an e-book). That way, when one source dies out, it won't be the end of the world because there are so many others that are still going. Turns out, this is far better having some random person as your boss who gets to decide whether you get to keep your job or not. Sure it may not be the lowest-hanging fruit, but it's still worth it. Once you have set up one or a few sources of passive income, you have already acquired quite a bit of knowledge, so it will be easier to create more.
