From the VNs you listed i already read some stuff of umineko but the dialogues were kinda dull. At some point i didn't even pay attention anymore. The only thing that kept me playing was the enjoyable music when the witches appeared on rokkenjima.
At the beginning of EP4 ryukishi07 tried to bring in some popscience like schröderinger's cat but the whole issue with battler trying to deny the magic with his argumentation was very poor in total.

I want to play devil's advocate and say that people exaggerate it, especially on western channels like 4chan, actually. I read through it myself and while it is true that the prose is nothing to wonder at and it can be sluggish at times, it's also not the abyssal trainwreck people make it to be. Shimokura's critique plastered on the gimmick of the VN is certainly not the first one but the problem lied in that the characters were probably not too endearing and that his attempts at making you feel the emotions he wants you to feel are weakened because of it. Nevertheless I still had fun reading it and got Shimokura's point even though I might not agree with what he is trying to say, or the way he is trying to say it. I think that was one of the most divisive points actually, rather than his "style", in the Japanese community. To be honest I think people in the west elevate VNs too highly and thus end up being disappointed when they don't read actual novel material bound in cover and written in paper. It's probably the reasoning behind why Japanese taste seems to suck compared to western readers.

Certainly not the best Nitroplus has given out but I thought, for example, Axanael's falling action was even worse. There were also some cool characters like Exhibit A here. The topic could have been written leagues better but it certainly wasn't a snorefest.

Hm, I'd say more than liking being insulted it's the humor in the game that's not for everyone. Though if you have an issue with the protagonist being treated like shit by the heroines, Ikikoi isn't for you. I'm enjoying it so far.

I've barely seen any problems translation-wise, though I'm still early in the game. There are minor issues such as phrasing sometimes being slightly awkward, text not fitting the text box, some typos, but nothing major so far. It's perfectly readable.

From what I'm aware, it actually was edited up to a point, so if there are any real editing problems they probably won't become apparent until later on.

Come to think of it, the protagonist being treated like shit is not an uncommon thing in anime, so it must appeal to a fair amount of people. For example, Sekai Seifuku has that going on. Still pretty good though.
