Now that I finished the electronic walls of XFD, I am advancing really slowly in the Rock/Pop and Metal section... ugh... guess I'll skip to Jazz and come back later, if I can. Would you recommend anything from the Rock/Pop and Metal sections, just in case?

On another topic, I made a Touhou arrangement, but /mu/ is packed with SoundCloud threads where nobody gives feedback to anyone, and no one seems to even know/be interested into Touhou. Is there a place in /jp/ I can share it with you? Not gonna post it anywhere and look like a self-promoting bitch, I'd just like some feedback.

Desert Years is the only good Shibayan song, and it would suck megadick if not for yana. izna is far superior, and LAZ's song is still better than the other Shittyban tracks, even with the vocals to mask how long and boring they are. Random question here. Why the fuck does Doujincore rip into MPC? They have quite a few albums that no one else has, but they're all in MPC which maxes out at 180kbps and won't work on hardly any portable player, and to top it all off if you convert it, it sounds like shit.

I'm pretty sure he used to rip to MP3, I think he switched to MPC so people would stop streaming the MP3's off his server. He also puts some of his CD's up for lossless on ASTOST. I think his username is woshibt or something like that.

He also runs a proxy service, so he would probably not make as much money if he put everything up in lossless.

Really? I was planning on doing that... won't it at least keep the 180kbps quality?

At least with JPGs I know you can guarantee it doesn't get visibly lossier if you save it with 100% quality, although it makes the file bigger.

You can say the same with audio.
Converting MPC to MP3 would be like converting JPG to JPG, but using the same (or worse) quality settings as the original JPG. It's going to lose some quality.

Your example would be something like converting MPC to FLAC (or any other lossless format). It will keep the same audio quality, but the filesize will be much larger.

That's not exactly the case. You'll still lose quite a lot of information that way. It's the same as converting a 80 quality jpeg to a 95 quality jpeg. You're applying the lossy compression algorithm twice, so you'll lose data twice. You'll just lose less data the second time around. No idea whether it would be enough to keep the compression transparent, though.

You should just be able to drop them into the folder.
For the MP3's, you might just be able to replace all the ".flac" with ".mp3" in the cue files and it will work, but I don't know, I didn't download the MP3 version.

Also, if you see any errors with the tags, point them out please. I think I got all of them right, but I might have overlooked one or two.

0 has the highest target bitrate and therefore applies the minimal amount of compression to a song to remain transparent. As you go up in number the target bitrate lowers untill you start getting into ~190kbps (v2) where you start hearing artifacts if you aren't deaf. Particularly in live instruments.

DoujinStyle is having issues at the moment. Seems one of their mods went rogue and added a filter to screw up all of the mega links. The filter turns all exclamation points upside down.

The only fix right now is to quote the post and copy the link from the BB code.

I'm keeping the entire album, just 2 or 3 songs are meh. Hell yeah. And the cover is the best thing ever.

Unrelated but every time I see this pic it annoys me because I instinctively think "oh wow Jungle arranges of Touhou tracks" before remembering that this is not the case.

I've gotten unbelievably lazy with listening to releases recently, and I am basically downloading some circles (ALiCE'S EMOTiON, Alstroemeria etc.) just to keep my current collection up to date with almost no intention of listening to them. This is the sign of a disease of some kind.

Some of the links are still up, mostly mega links. Almost all the mediafire links from previous events are dead though.
You can still find most albums that have been posted though, if you spend a minute googling. If one of the links is dead and you can't find a mirror, you can always request it on somewhere like doujinstyle, they'll usually find a link or reup it for you.
