Why is there in every japanese report on something a window in a corner of the screen showing some persons reaction to what is happening? Are japanese so autistic they have to be told what emotions they should feelwhen watching TV?

>> No.11805601

No, people watch a lot of programs to see what their favorite actor/actress is doing.
Those cams are often more popular than the content of the show itself.

>> No.11805602

People enjoy watching reactions.

At least they're genuine reactions and not laugh tracks.

>> No.11805603

No, they're so lonely they need friends to watch TV with.

>> No.11805605

Just part of the cheap show model they all use, get some japanese tier celebs on a bench and then show cooking segments and tourism pieces.

Why is there in every 4chan message on something a window in a corner of the post showing some reaction to what is written? Are americans so autistic they have to be told what emotions they should feel when browing the internet?

Yes, all the chemical waste has destroyed our minds. There are no two people that are not autistic.

>> No.11805709

Isn't it pretty much the same as canned laughter?

Humans have this really weird habit of always unconsciously trying to relate to the emotions of those around them, so adding someone you can react with is a cheap way to intensify the emotions you get out of watching the show.

So on the contrary, the more attuned you are to other people's emotions, the more you'd get out of sharing the experience with on-screen spectators. Autists, on the other hand, have emotions of their own, but have difficulty relating to the emotions of others, so this kinda thing would be completely wasted on them.

This is a pretty common question on /jp. Did anyone watch this episode? Gaijin come off the plane and they interview them. One guy comes from Hawaii to teach hula dancing. They go to the studio and film the whole class.

What would be the purpose of a board like this? If they can read the words, they can probably recognize emotions, and if they can't read, then they wouldn't be able to explain what an emotion looked like with the right words

It's kind of cute though. They always gave you something to look at. It would be a fun job to just make informational signs for children.

It's like the west with their stupid comedic pauses during movie trailers.
Do movie creators think people are too stupid to understand a joke without pausing the BGM to emphasize the often shitty punchline?

Every comedy trailer does this multiple times and i'm tired of it.

This is halfway true. Traditionally Japanese culture discouraged the expression of emotions, and they thought Westerners were idiots who let too much show on their faces. These days Japanese pay a lot for special classes or therapy to help them smile or express emotion for the sake of doing business with gaijin.

Holy shit, that's cute as hell. I imagine a shy kuudere OL trying her best to practice smiling in front of the mirror, so she can relate more to the quirky and intimidating gaijin she meets in business dealings, and she needs to constantly reassure herself that even though it feels like she's acting out of character, she's just fulfilling an important responsibility as part of her job.

It is more for the older generation of business men and is less that the gaijin are intimidating and more that smiling and acting friendly will get them more Amelican dorrahs.

You know Western television has that kind of thing too, right? America's Funniest Home Videos has a crowd they show laughing. All those "100 craziest" or whatever shows cut to C-list celebrities making quips. It's nothing specific to Japan and your thread sucks.
