I am a refugee from desuchan's /do/ board. I left after that place had spiraled into chaos after they lost their loli board and all the threads became very disturbing stories about how people would go into toy stores buying realistic dolls of little girls and put onaholes in them and it all came crashing down when it just became straight up CP posting. All I want in life is cute dolls nothing else.

Unnerving, there needs to be an informal line drawn in the otaku community, when "lolicon" ends and "pedophile" begins. It has always worked on a very thin line, and perhaps boundaries need to be made in order to keep groups with different interests separate.

I like the Maria one. I always imagine her hair piece is a grief seed stuck in her head.

That's not how it works unfortunately, when a Japanese company licenses a character they can only produce it for a certain amount of time. Otherwise everyone would be able to get what they want. Besides I can't speak Japanese very well and it seems like their English corespondent doesn't work there anymore because they haven't responded to english emails.

The doll threads on each board are different and that's probably due to a difference in those populating the threads.

Doll threads in toy are seemingly dominated by older grills that tend to prefer the resin bdj fantasy look. Whereas jp's doll threads are populated by little girls who prefer the sexy anime girl look and they are much better photographers.

Once upon a time we had a pastebin. I don't have it, but someone will surely be kind enough to post it! A good place to start is to buy a cheaper doll, to see if you like the hobby and want to continue and spend more $$$. Common entry-level dolls are Pullip and Azone (though not technically BJD, they're good entry-level dolls).

If your heart is set on a Dollfie Dream, you can buy a standard model on the Volks website for under $500. Mandarake also has limited edition dolls (pre-owned) for non-rape prices.

Recently ive been having these really weird conversations with my doll.

One of the best was she woke me yesterday when i fell asleep in my chair, tugging at my sleeve asking me when we're alllowed to eat, because she's hungry and i have no food in the house.

Another one she woke me at 2am with her talking on skype using a little dolfie sized laptop in the living room. talking about how she felt bad for me that i was such a failure who cant afford food.

Though i dont know where she is atm. asleep i think, or "out" i cooked food but she wasnt around.

Standard models are pre-built dolls of standard heads. Aoi (02) Yukino (03) Rena (01) Miko (06) and Mayu (04)-- you can build yourself which is doable, but it won't be painted. If you can paint the head yourself, or want to purchase a prepainted head, build the doll yourself. If you want one pre-painted, go for a standard. They were selling Canon's EOS M mirrorless here for a bargain price so I bought one myself for those moments when I'm not feeling like hauling a big DSLR around and to replace my broken Fuji X100. Picture quality seems very decent for the price even though it's a bit clumsy to use even with just a 430EX flash attached. Lack of viewfinder doesn't seem like a problem with doll photography at least, choosing focusing points with the touchscreen etc is pretty nice.

If anyone else makes a thread about something related to loli art (that of course isn't just an excuse to talk about little girls, or formatted in the same way as one of their threads) it wouldn't be deleted, and probably ignored by the warosu shitposters.

Example, make a thread about a loli game, or loli touhou girls, or the onahole threads in general which are pretty much just people posting images of, and asking how to buy, fake little anime girl vaginas. No one cares about those card games which sometimes are pretty loli too.

In parts would be my advice, jew or not. The standard models don't really include any discount so, unless they happen to be exactly what you want (eyes, wig, bust size, etc), it's better to get everything separately which also divides the cost and the impact on your income.

Not necesarly, if you buy a head with a custom (or rarely original) face-up from auctions. Hence the observation about the limited parts and clothes rising up the price; in those cases, to compensate for the price of the face up that you actually want over the head you actually want, you save from not getting the standard model ones, buying the rest of the parts separately and the total balances out a bit.
In any case, even if you're very selective, most probably you'll spend more afterwards on things like eyes, wigs, clothes et al.

Threads like these. Honestly, if you're willing to go the custom route like almost every cute doll is, price isn't really an issue.

If you can't afford the 1/3 dollfies with insane scalper markups on YJA, you can always get a blank body and learn to sew. It's all a question of budget. If you've got 500 bucks, buy a blank DD or SD. 300 bucks, get one of the cheaper 1/3 dolls if you don't mind the uglier joints. Less than a hundred bucks? Get the cheap 1/6 dolls instead. A friend got a Saber some time ago, I saw it and fell in love. My girlfriend's also been into dolls for a long time, both resin ones and she had one of the earlier Dollfie Dreams too, so those two were a great resource and gave good help when I was getting mine.

I don't think dolls are that expensive as a hobby anyways - it's just as valid to get just one girl that you really like and enjoy and photograph her and get some new clothes every now and then, being a doll hobbyist doesn't necessarily mean having to buy every single new doll that comes out and owning at least 20 at any given time, even though there are a lot of people like that, too.
