You stop flooding their market with crap movies aping their own pop culture.

>HURR DURR WE SET THE MOVIE IN JAPAN THAT'LL SURELY MAKE THE JAPS LIKE US
Hint: 9 Americlap movies out of 10 have a pretty myopic opinion of what the world is outside of America and inevitably come across as parodies to the natives watching it.

The Wolverine was pretty good. Hugh Jackman is cool.

Pacific Rim was overrated.

I was excited for 47 Ronin because it's 47 Ronin and Keanu, but I'm hearing that it's horrible.

Considering that

Godzilla
Mothra vs. Godzilla
War of the Gargantuas
Gamera 2
Daimajin
Godzilla vs. Biollante
The X from Outer Space
Godzilla vs. Hedorah
Daikyojū Gappa

All exist, I'm going to heavily disagree with you.

Gamera 2 wasn't as good as Gamera 3, and Gamera 3 isn't as good as Pacific Rim

Let's be honest here, kaiju movies (post Godzilla 54) are dumb as fuck and are only enjoyable for the spectacle. Nearly immobile guys in rubber suits that need to twist their bodies in order to graze each other with weak-ass slaps can't compare to the CG action sequences in PR.

It was a decent story written in a crucial historical phase of their culture.
47 Ronin it's a bastardization.
Pacific Rim it's a moneygrabber shit.
Oh don't you get me started on Marvel/DC..

Gamera 3 is badly written and overrated by the fandom, and it's also filled to the brim with CGI action compared to it's previous film that had great sets+suit work, Legion looks incredible on film compared to Irys and the third Gamera, which is hunched over and immobile.

Calm down you trendy kiddo, Hedora is reviewed better than Pacific Rim in Japan film books, usually rated 3.5-4 stars out of.

War of the Gargantuas is an awesome Japan/America co-produced film (Pacific Rim couldn't even get a Japanese advisor)

Daimajin has better characterization than Pacific Rim.

Gappa is satirical genius (along with the Japanese release of King Kong vs. Godzilla but I left that one out) and honestly more interesting than Pacific Rim as referential piece, with Pacific Rim just having Harryhausen monsters labeled Kaiju.

Mothra vs. Godzilla is a fan staple, and Godzilla vs. Biollante not only has top notch practical SFX (the only post Showa Godzilla film comparable to Kaneko Gamera) but there's all kinds of symbolized depth to it that fans have deciphered. Take a read @ http://www.historyvortex.org/japanese_environmentalism_in_godzilla_vs_biollante.html

I like PR, but take your CGI and shove it.

Warner Bros. handled the advertisement terribly, it completely went over their head. I also imagine advertising what little they did as a "Kaiju eiga" film threw some people off as previous foreign and native Kaiju films were financial failures in the era of dying Tokusatsu interest.

There's an air of indifference and praise, the X-Plus vinyl company that distributes the large scale Godzilla and Kaiju figures has shown interest in doing Pacific Rim monsters for their lines, but I can't see them grabbing the license.
