No.

Brim is too wide and flat, and I don't think she likes terrible music and art for the sake of irony.

Signs point to yes.

The ribbon makes it 10x better than a regular one, though.

It's actually a borsalino hat.

No

Just because the specific name of the hat eludes you doesn't mean it's automatically a fedora.

They're sleeve garters, typically worn by bankers, accountants, and book keepers.
Take a closer look at her tie clip.

Not even trying to be /pol/ about it. I think it's intentional on ZUN's part and her Jewish-inspired outfit design is supposed to be a reference to the fact that Renko studies physics. I'm actually Jewish, it all just stood out to me.
Sorry if I angered anyone.

Apparently it was enough of a stereotype for /int/ or Krautchan to make a meme about it.

Probably has something to do with Einstein. The field is pretty saturated with them though if you study physics. Like Niels Bohr too.

Naturally. ZUN always changes the girls' outfits.
It actually took me some time to realize how much he does this. Using Mary and Renko as an example; at first glance their clothes look the same, but if you pay attention to details you see that each time they wear something different.

Looks like a boaters hat

A boater (also straw boater, basher, skimmer, cady, katie, somer, sennit hat, or in Japan, can-can hat) is a kind of men's formal summer hat.

It is normally made of stiff sennit straw and has a stiff flat crown and brim, typically with a solid or striped grosgrain ribbon around the crown. Boaters were popular as casual summer headgear in the late 19th century and early 20th century, especially for boating or sailing, hence the name

>> No.11730347

What full brimmed hats are socially acceptable?

>> No.11730369

I think it's a little unfair that internet culture has demonized fedoras. There are very few styles of hat that are socially acceptable. Soon, even baseball hats will be shunned and people's heads will be bare and lonely.

>> No.11730507

>>11726014
>boater

As far as appearance goes, the only difference between a boater and pork pie is what it's made of and if there's a crease around the crown. The typical boater is indeed straw and is dead flat on top. The typical pork pie is felt with a crease on top as in this pic >>11707520

Although Renko's hat is clearly not straw, it changes according to artist and the subtlety in design, especially around the crown, is lost. However, we can still classify according to what time period the hat is likely to be from instead - the boater being from the early 20th century whilst the pork pie was particularly popular in the 1930s and 40s. Renko's appearance is quite modern by 2hu standards so, to me, it seems that the pork pie is a better, more accurate fit for Renko than the boater.

Renko's hat is a pork pie.
