Majikoi is a highly acclaimed (85/81 on EGS) comedy/romance eroge with some focus on shounen-style combat (though for a big part in a parody way). Personally I found it to have great character interactions; the story mainly revolves around a group of 9 friends, and they feel like an actual group of friends, all playing their own roles within the group.

TakaJun, the translator, got a job some time ago and since then the project has ground to a halt.

At any rate, the reason for the delay should hopefully become apparent soon. I suspect a lot of people won't like the reasoning behind the delay once they know it, but we have discussed it with members of the community, and the delay is partly due to their feedback. Either way, please bear with us for a few more weeks. This will definitely be worth the wait.

It's no big secret that we've been discussing the possibility of making the Japanese version available as a download with them, similarly to what they did with Umineko. There aren't any concrete plans at present, but we definitely want it to be easy for people to purchase Higanbana if they wish to.

>Were honorifics taken out?
We're not causing a delay by removing honorifics. We don't include honorifics where they're unnecessary, only where appropriate. It'll be along the same lines as our translation of Higanbana - The First Night.

>Censorship mode implementation?
I'm not too sure what you mean by this, but there won't be any sort of censorship or censorship feature. I don't think this VN would benefit from any censorship.

I've been making minor edits, but we're quite happy with our current translation quality, so doing any sort of rewriting isn't really a priority for us.

Why do people who have no knowledge of language and zero tl experience keep voicing their fucking retarded opinions on the matter?
Quarter of active VN vocab is about 7000 words. Your typical EOP weeabo "knows" (not really, most of them have different meaning from what weeabos think) about 50-100 words.
"Most of grammar" is even more ridiculous statement, your typical EOP wouldn't even tell 受動態 from 可能法 apart, and these are very basics.

Considering they announced the game about six months ago, I think they're still on track to beat the average JAST release time by a couple orders of magnitude.

Mangagamer's status numbers are basically complete lies. If you want accurate numbers you have to figure out who's translating it for them and watch their social medias. Right now Imopara's translation is done and it's in doddler's hands. He likes to tweet about his porn game work so I'm sure you could go watch that to see how it's progressing.

>WHY PUT NEW SHIT IN BETA WHEN YOU HAVE TWO FUCKING INNOGREY GAMES JUST SITTING THERE?

I think that's one of the morningstar games, in which case it would be because it's so short and easy to translate.

Cartagra is being translated by Apoptosis. The same guy who did Kara no Shoujo. I doubt they've got him working on morningstar's shit. It's not like Mangagamer is a serious actual company where they can only assign staff to so many games, they just hire freelance translators and then pay them shit, so the amount of games they can work on at once is limited only by the miniscule amount of working capital they have.

For some reason there's no KiriKiri/KAG interpreter for Linux, even though it's open-source and one of the most popular engines. It might be because most games depend on Windows binaries (DLLs) for plug-ins. Still, Wine runs most KiriKiri games just fine. I haven't played that VN, so maybe I don't know the context, but isn't the translation for the 2nd one in that picture a little off?

The way it's translated in the "actual meaning" part, it makes it seem like the person has a lot of power, so it's strange for them to be helping humans. But doesn't それだけ indicate that the person doesn't have much power? Add in the くせに and the general tone of the sentence, and a more reasonable (if loose and not very literal) translation would be something like, "You piece of shit! Trying to save people despite being so weak!"

Just curious as to the context of that sentence and why the "actual meaning" is worded that way. Not saying that I'm right.

>> No.11701763

Based fact that you actually believe there's nothing wrong with Insemination's shit, I find funny that you say Danganronpa's patch is one of the "best ever made" given that you apparently have no way of knowing the actual accuracy of its translation. The nice translators that give free work to the community can actually be both jerks and incompetents, you should learn this.

Now, to clear things up a bit, pretty much no one here said anything about Danganronpa when it came out because most people who cared went elsewhere to talk about it.

And I personally believe the group that translated it made some pretty dumb decisions (switching name order, for example) and some weird ones (like some wordings on the trials) but was skillful enough to not suck despite that. That's commendable in its own way, I guess.

>> No.11703757

Actually, it's not that simple.

First of all, not only sex-scenes were censored in that game, but anything sexually related to a ridiculous extent. This included dirty jokes (a staple in comedy eroge to begin with) and even kiss scenes getting alterations.

And more importantly, there's a big conceptual difference in removing something because "it's not worth the effort" or "I'm sure you don't want it" and "you're not allowed to see this because I say so".

That's most of the problem I, and I think most people, take with censorship. It's not like the work has to have sex or violence for me to get interested in it, I just don't like people telling me what I am allowed to see or not see. Especially when it's based on arbitrary rules of what's and what's not appropriate generally upheld for no other reason than tradition.

Thanks.

I can stomach 3DPD after a while, and I actually kinda like old-school CG, but I wasn't about to try if it turned out it wasn't worth it.

People who watch live-action series all the time tend to lower their standards for them (the same way I have actually kind of low standards for enjoying anime and eroge, really), so if a /jp/er told me it was shit I would have believed him rather than my acquaintances.
