The Kiss the Petal series. If you want something a bit more serious there are Aoi Shiro and Akai Ito. I fucking love both those. They're non-ero, though, and the yuri is more implied than anything.

Are there even other translated Yuri games except "sono hanabira ni kuchizuke o"? Anyway, I don't read yuri stuff and I guess it's also not a very popular genre in this thread, not to mention the general lack of knowledge about translations here. Try the /vg/ VN thread.

It kind of did, though, due to the character in question, how they handled it, and the type of game people assumed Kakyuusei 2 was going to be. Sure, some of Elf's other games had NTR, but those were very clearly not moege.

Yes and no. Her tsundere is rather on the weak side so she's not the full blown cliché ridden osanajimi, but she does get pretty annoying once she starts to worry about the protag. It being longer would have been better, honestly. If it did the genre shift much later after spending a decent amount of time with the girls, did things real subtle, it would have had more of an impact as well as being more memorable. The routes should have also been longer, and so should have everything which happened after Miyuki's wild ride. Aoi should have been introduced later with the reader not even knowing who the hell she is going into Totono (much like Mikan).

Finished a route in 夏の幼馴染と、冬のカノジョ because the art was sort of nice and I figured it would be fairly short.
Not exactly outstanding, and a bit too by the numbers for my taste, but one of the better first releases by a company that I've read. It's mostly because of how short it is, but it's always nice to read a moege where all the drama is resolved fairly quickly rather than having to shuffle through several hours of terribly written angst and drama. Epilogues set quite a bit in the future are always nice to see in this type of game, and really don't appear often enough to me, same thing with having the obligatory male friend having his own girlfriend and what not.

The route I read was completely over by the time summer ended, so along with the title that really irritated my autism.

BSZ never really even tried to be canon as far as I can see. To begin with it would beg the question of where Edward was during the events of Sky when every other ending involved him leaving for the outside world to join the Fenrir there.

Well BSZ to be canon it will need to have canon route which most likely will be Marels route so we need to wait till then to see if its ever explained. And if we take Frans ending it might explain why Ed isn't around depending what they wanted to imply with that gunshot. Even if Ed is around it isn't that much problem to me, bigger would be if they change things to contradict stuff in Dives like Fran route did with Kou&Rains relationship.

>>11634181
I can get behind that idea. BSZ wasn't completely incomplete though, lots of stuff does get closure, but it clearly just lacked the Marel route which we are now getting. But I guess that counts as incomplete.

Shizel route - WTF, my feeling is the same as >>11634144 as it puts a spin on Dive series. I mean, I can't you imagine Shizel hooked up with Ed as lover going into the Dive series like that. For me BSZ feels very much like canon than not (applauds to the writer, since nothing really felt out of place with the background setting introduced in Dive series). Not to mention the fluffy (ok, Dive did get a bonus scene with Shizel in frilly dresses).

>>11634196
>Well BSZ to be canon it will need to have canon route which most likely will be Marels route

I agree, Marel is just a giant question mark in every route, very mutable in how they can twist Ed into position, certainly more room for creativity.

My assumption is that it's just Fran's turrets shooting the 'camera' aka perspective, and that there's nothing more behind it besides being a stylish approach to mark that it's over.
Because seriously, there's no other possible reason for them to be in that scene, besides being a tribute to Dom, though that would be slightly out of character.

I asked this question on the nukige thread, but since I don't know how many of us frequent both threads, I thought I'd ask here too. Copypasted:

Can you guys suggest any VN/eroge which show the rape of an actually respectable character? I mean, not like the average onna kishi with her "informed" nobility and respect who gets imprisoned in the first 20 minutes, I mean someone who spends a large amount of the story being strong, noble and/or respectable, and ends up getting raped.

Her being a loli, or at least not a titty monster, is a plus.

The ones I can think of are Theta from Gears of Dragoon, who spends most of the game being a powerful and noble presence, Myria from Gyakushuu 4 who does get raped from the beginning, but still manages to be the only decent, intelligent and respectable person in her kingdom, to the degree that even the rapist protagonist respects her a bit, and the queen from Aku no Onna Kanbu.

The suggestions I got were Amatsukaze, Venus Blood series, Extravaganza, some Eushully games, and Bunny Black.

Yes it is; basically starting rather forcibly and luckily, the MC already slept with all four heroines. However after that he totally wimps out, despite supposely being recognized as all-round capable (he's the student president). This would work better if the MC wasn't so and come back with witty and snarky dialogues (even a high beta MC will do well).

Finished Magical Charming, there's a great hole in my life now. How do you guys find moege? How do you know if a title will start out cute but you know, somewhere in the back of your mind, things are going to get BAD real soon and wreck your pleasure of a title?? The worst thing that should ever happen in someone's life is wondering if your friends will make fun of you for dating your sister.

I wish there were tags on VNDB or something but I can't even begin to imagine what they would even be for finding moege.

I just want people to always be happy ;_;

I don't understand your question, with some odd exceptions where they pull a genre twist midway, most moeges start as moeges and end as moeges if not at worst, devolving into a nukige.

It's probably harder to find a moege with strings attached to it without it being dead obvious (e.g. preview cgs showing something not exactly right).

hey, that's an idea, preview CGs should narrow the field. I shouldn't complain, after all most eroge are moege anyway.

Most of the stuff I get recommended to me here, I get through the prologue, really like the characters, then realize it's a damned setup, I have to watch these people suffer. Then I drop it, get sad, and lie in a corner sucking my thumb and wishing I were in a world painted in ice cream.

Picture wholeheartedly related. DAMN YOU.

Depends on what you consider suffering, but I don't think that most moege I play really have much suffering. There's drama, but I wouldn't consider it anywhere near as bad as that. Neko Kawaigari is more of a case of relaxing you with something cute and then ruin it as the harsh reality you forgot falls on top of you.

Of course, there's cases of moege that sometimes try to be the latest hardcore drama instead of just being moe (PriministAr, for example, though the route in question was probably the best route overall) but I rarely see it get anywhere beyond fairly standard drama. Or maybe I'm just getting lucky in my picks, I don't know.

From this year, I can suggest Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai, Fureraba, Cocoro@Function and LovelyxCation 2, for example.

Keroq/makura stuff in general is pretty simple. Also, the only thing that's particularly difficult is really wrapping your head around some of the concepts he brings up if you've never read some of the stuff he based it off of.
