Tsukihime anime was better than the game itself. The animation was pretty neat for its time, they explored some of the characters more deeply, there were some interesting plot twists through out the episodes and you probably won't admit it, but I bet you cried while watching the last episode. The amusement park episode was entertaining and brought some funny moments to this dark, almost emo series. Overall I enjoyed it all the way through. The showdown at the end kept me on the edge of my seat. The only negative thing that I can find is that it was a bit too short.

I have not read the visual novel, but the Tsukihimay anime came across to me as cheap, disjointed and nonsensical, like a book with every second page torn off. Half the plot threads never went anywhere, Ciel was so worthless they could have left her out of the series without having to change much of anything, and I especially hated how almost all of the action scenes happened off-screen, as if they just didn't have the budget to show them. The first episode had a nice creepy mood, but that's about it.
