Is it true that in D&D4E they made the alignment system completely linear?

So instead of Lawful Good, Lawful Evil, Chaotic Good, Chaotic Neutral, etc., it's just:
Lawful Good -> Good -> Neutral <- Evil <- Chaotic Evil
and "Lawful Good" means "more good" and "Chaotic Evil" means "more evil"?

I remember reading this somewhere before it was released, and I can't believe the company who makes the game would miss the point so hard.

Yeah, I heard it got all WoW-like. I left /tg/ around the time all that "shit twinkie" crap started.

There was also a very odd pre-release video showing those old nerds with their wacky hairstyles and slow-moving games, and the trendy new D&D4E nerds with their laptops and action-packed adventures. No idea what WotC's marketing department were thinking there.

We've tried Maid RPG a few times, it never works out.

I'd like to do a serious campaign with /jp/. Not Touhou (just look at TouhouMUCK, it's awful) or anything lewd, just a few /jp/sies pretending to be wizards and warriors over IRC or some game client.

It's true, but that's also in line with everything else being simplified.
It's just an accessibility thing, people who get into 4E are likely to go to 3.5E if they want more, where they might not have ever started with 3.5E for being too complicated.
There's nothing stopping you from using the old alignment system, just like house-rules.

i've been full of seething rage for the past four hours
everything feels horrible and my eyes are burning up and my sinuses have stopped working and i want to smash everything that i see and every little inconvenience that i encounter makes me want to destroy anything intricate

ive been sitting here with music on loop trying to stop my mind from fooling itself by like squeezing body parts until they hurt but its not hurting like it would it just stings a little and immediately goes away no matter how hard i twist or crush the skin

how does jp deal with adrenaline preventing them from managing their adrenaline
