Why do the Japanese use the Jewish Star of David symbol in a lot of their video games and Anime?

The Shield of Solomon (Jewish star) is 6 pointed, but the top and bottom points are 90 degrees vertical like on the Israeli flag. Turned slightly like that, it is a common symbol used in Wicca - a religion founded in the 1950s by Gerald Gardner - by those who practice Solomon's (the Jewish king) particular variety of thaumaturgical paganism.

As for why the Japanese use it ... "it looks cool". The Japanese often use Biblical symbols, stories, and characters in their games and anime; generally for the same reason Westerners are so enamored with Asian legends, mythos, and culture.

Because "foreign is exotic". Believe me, we look just as stupid to them as they do to us.
