Rakugo is fedoracore

In Japan, knock-knock jokes (rakugo) are considered an art form.

This video is always relevant to Japanese culture, especially Japanese comedy.

Sorry, even the brits are better at being funny.

Huge lack of context in that video and it's rude as fuck to laugh during a presentation. They're not middle school students.

Why does he yell "shut up!" like that? Is the Japanese version of "shut up" more appropriate to use in formal settings and he didn't understand that using the english version makes him sound like he's throwing a tantrum?

Brits had to name their comedy "British humor" because no one else found it funny.

My Japanese 301 professor really liked Rakugo. There was a reading about it and he would not shut up about it for the rest of the semester. He would always talk about how he listened to Rakugo CDs in his car and how it was so funny. I never found it to be very funny, but I'm not a 48 year old Japanese man.

You have stewart lee and we have brian regan. They're both good.

>> No.11500419

Rakugo doesn't make any sense unless you're a retired japanese Salaryman.

Joshiraku has nothing to do with rakugo besides the situational humour of being in Kimono all the time.

Is laughing acceptable in diplomatic situations?
Because I laughed pretty hard at that accent.

I really wish I could find the copypasta that they used during the gg joshiraku subs. One where they guy goes on a rant like "You whiny bitches think you're entitled to subs? Well some of use have real lives.... my wife left me.... something something".

Can someone post it?

Joshiraku was too japanese/gg-trollsubs for me anyway.

>Japan is the worst country in politics, especially in dealing with their historical facts. Would this ambassador know what the heck they did in 1900s? They began the World War, harrassed Korean people so cruelly and committed so many other unethical and blamable events. Now the new representatives are even trying to say they didn't do anything wrong! Japan should follow Germany which sincerely apologized to and compensated for Jewish people and other harmed countries by them. Shame on you Japan-
