Most bots just blank posted with an image or used the same text in every post. Cornellia instead copied random posts on the board while quoting posts in the thread it was replying to. This would often lead to hilarious results, and why she was even called Cornellia in the first place.

It's a script, like all the others, that you have to not only save but actually rename it and then run it.

If you think that's dumb, consider the original ones were pure text in a post that people on /b/ copied, saved, and ran.

In other words, if you're not an idiot, nothing would happen even if you saved Cornelia pics. Except the small chance that there was someone's CP embedded in it.

Very effective. But you have to remember this was back in the old days on 4chan, when the twit brigade would pretty reliably just do whatever people presented to them as something to do.

Captcha of course nixes the thing as well, same as any spambot.

Are you copying my question from yesterday?

I remember reading that it was someone else (maybe a Brazilian?), but I get confused with those thick-line images, the more crayony comics, and Dan's threads, because they're all posted anonymously and kind of blend together.

I never understood why people blame Gaia for anything. For one, Gaia is older than 4chan. Original 4chan users might have gone there first.

For two, 4chan was ruined by the people habbo, etc raids brought back as well as people flooding in from news reports and general "dis site is so underground and naughty guys"

For three, what is special about Gaia that is different from the newfags that flooded literally everywhere around 2005? It's one of those places that everyone seems to talk about, but claim they don't visit, yet they can apparently spot posters from there and know they're the ones ruining the site.

4chan always uses a scapegoat to blame for the userbase going down.It was Gaia in the past and now it's a combination of Reddit and Tumblr.

I haven't seen someone blame Gaia in a good two years.

GTFO. Raiding habbo, making chicks cry on ABC, etc... was great. It wasn't until Hal Turner that raids got fucked up... eventually leading to the fucking Chanology shit.

The influx of new users skyrocketed way after raids, and JB were banned on /b/. You have no idea what you are talking about.

I suppose I should congratulate you, though. Moralfags like you won out and turned /b/ into another generic OT forum.

I'm surprised you're not a tripfag on top of it all.

There's no proof of floods of new people on /b/ being due to gaia, it's just I used pre-gaia as a timeline, since there was a time where people claimed thats where new people were coming from. I don't exactly know where bunches of new people came in from. Possibly ebaums, and these days facebook and reddit but in the older days I don't think there was a definite place. It was just a place that spread word of mouth among small circles.

Yeah but if I wanted to talk to a bunch of normies I'd start a tumblr or something.

Unfortunately all the "lurk moar" in the world doesn't actually make people lurk because normals feel entitled to everything.

The thing is that pretty much anyone who says he misses /l/ is a lying cunt.
Its existence on 4chan was so brief you can count the people who posted on 4chan then and still browse now on one hand.

There's a difference between being informed on how things are currently handled in a system and then deciding that something needs to change

versus just waltzing into a completely new place with total disregard to how things operate there and deciding you don't need to them because if they do things differently from you then they must be wrong

lurk more doesn't mean "don't stray from the collective"
it means to first inform yourself about how things operate, and then decide what to do

Yes, I also use /ck/.

But mainly for nostalgic reasons, as I can't deal with change.

Not true. I've had about ~10 passes revoked and my money refunded.
