Decided to give Baldr Sky Zero a try on my shitty computer, after tweaking down the settings I managed to make the game run smooth enough to be playable but I get this graphical glitch (picture).

I'm guessing the reason is because my card is a Geforce 6150le while the min requirement is 6600gt.

Is there anything I can do about it aside from purchasing a card or do I just give up and play something else? A shame since I liked the previous ones.

It's completely open to play through as the first route, but looking at the reveals I got here and what's happening overall, it feels like a route that comes before the final one.

Reinstalled DirectX, updated drivers and also tried the emulator. No dice, in the case of the emulator it had varying effects but mostly only deteriorating it. Thanks for the help either way.

At this point it's quite likely that my hardware simply doesn't support something and while the game is kind enough to not crash me right at the start, as far as I know there isn't a way around it either.

If I'm desperate enough I'll probably just play it as it is after I'm done with other releases this month, otherwise I'll have to pass until I get a card. Experiencing playing a game in this state might be interesting in its own way though. For the first ten minutes.

So I held off on Baldr Sky Zero chapter 4 and started Secret Game Code Rebellion, which is the full version of Secret Game Code Revise, containing the 2nd half (the counterattack) with major rewrites to the first half. They weren't kidding when they first announced it last year they will add about 80% more content when it was first going to the portable. This has 5 scenarios, or forced order routes, if you will: 1st scenaro is 99% same as the Code revise, you can just force skip on it; 2nd one is largely new and 3rd one is completely new (I am still on the 3rd). Rather than 80% more content, I rather hazard a guess they tripled the length of it.

Playing Sakura route and I found some glowing spot while searching around the map that spawned several golden versions of enemies that are a lot stronger than their regular versions. I think i finally understand how those Japanese dudes were getting so attached to the Love Plus girls. The way the game is set up after you play and get a girlfriend they put you in for the long haul. Real time events, Birthdays, Month specific dating locations. They put a lot of effort into making a virtual relationship. When you're kissing she even presses her lips to the touch screen in case you want to actually kiss the screen and at one point she even said to say "I Love You" Into the DS mic. Man Love Plus would be embarrassing to play out in public.

Finished all 5 scenarios - definitely a more complete package compare to the initial edition of Code Revise. Content length was as expected, about 3x of the original. Characters only came out slightly better even though the story was significantly rewritten. If the original was a 6-7/10, this would be a solid 7.5-8/10 as it went through more of the "If" scenarios; the original was a tad short so this was fixed. However I can't really point out why the suspense felt a little low bar, may be people were dying like flies in short span when second stage hits? I have not read the sequel Killer Queen (this is a prequel) so I can't tell how it really closes out.

Now, back to Baldr Sky Zero for my much needed mech action fix.

What are some VN's that contain pretty simple Japanese? I tried playing Little Busters, but had to look up a word at least every sentence. So I figured it's still a bit out of my league, as it seemed to be using a lot of obscure words especially in its narration.
It'd be a plus if it's voiced, as I'd like to practice my listening skills as well, which I'm still lacking in compared to reading.

I downloaded Baldr Sky Dive1 and Dive 2 to give them a shot, but I'm a bit confused. When I try to launch dive 1, I get some sort of CD key error like I have to register. Dive 2 launches fine and it says at the title screen "Dive 2 + Dive 1", does that mean it will start at 1 anyways, or am I going to spoil the hell out of myself if I start this and ruin it for myself?

You should start with the 'Dive1 + Dive2' version. As long as all your weapons start at level 1 I think you should be starting from the very beginning. If you go straight to Dive 2 I believe they should be level 2.

I hate lewdness, and I'd prefer something that isn't lewd at all. Even if there's an option to turn off sex scenes or something, I'd rather they just not be in the game at all (because if they are, I'd get annoyed at not having 100% completion).

I'd really like a big list of recommendations just based on that. I can filter through to find what suits my taste in terms of story and etc. on my own.

VNDB has a "No Sexual Content" tag. Try searching for those. You'll find a lot of console releases, though, since those don't have pornographic content (barring some vary rare cases where they exploit some legal loophole or something). In the case of PC to console ports, the sex is either implied or completely removed. I don't know if EGS has a similar function, but it's blocked for many baka gaijin IPs, which makes it a pain to look anything up in it.

Things that flatout have no lewdness at all is going to be extremely difficult. At least minimal levels of lewdness are a given in otaku-related things. The only VN that comes to mind that doesn't follow this is Narcissu.

From what I've played in the trial, it was pretty average. People who like literal serious business involving things like blackmail and greedy organizations might be interested in it. Those like me who liked the apparent relaxing atmosphere it would have might be somewhat disappointed.

From what I can tell, the game apparently follows the structure of either G-Senjou/Eustia or, more likely, Sharin no Kuni: seems like it has a straight path that either diverges into the routes or just gives you different endings at the very end of the game, though at this point I can't be certain. The trial includes a large part of Isuka's chapter, which starts off pretty normal but halfway through starts having the serious business I mentioned above as Isuka's grandmother gets bullied by the rest of the island.

The art could use some polish too. Overall, though, it didn't seem bad or good from my experience with the trial, just average. I just hope that it doesn't dive down into a pool of terrible drama when the story goes back to the scene shown right at the start.

Moege make for a good change of pace and I also find it easier to appreciate the more story heavy / serious titles when you're not plowing through them all the time. Then there's some rare cases when you pick a random cute looking game with zero expectations and it ends up being a genuinely good title.
Now that Senshinkan got delayed to February the second Leyline game will most likely end up being my favorite 2013 title. And I originally started the series as a filler between big releases.

Sadly no much experience with nukige due to how impatient I am when it comes to H scenes. It's just much more faster to download a doujinshi or H anime than it is to search for a good looking nukige, torrenting for a few hours, installing it then reading through a good chunk of text before actually getting to the action. I actually have quite a load of nukige taking my hard drive space but I never feel like starting them.

Someone told me this before and I started to see it that way as well when it took me 2 months to finish most of the kamiges. For awhile nothing would interest me as much until I learned to enjoy things. I also read good games when my moon skills were bad so I bet I ruined my experiences.

As far as doujins and nukiges go they are kinda different deals and appeal differently to my fapping tastes. So I don't consider doujins repalcement for nukige, as nukiges for me have voice acting which is very important, they also usually have more setting up for the scenes and more defining to their characters who you will fuck, this makes nukiges increasingly more apealing than doujins most of times. And most good nukiges have you atleast sticking it in at the latest around 30 min mark so it doesnt really take that long of reading. Nukiges also last lots of use before you get tired of them if you have right kind of one for you and sometimes you just ifnd yourself fapping agian to some of the best scenes you have encountered, it's all about finding the right kind of nukige for your needs. They might be bit more of work to find something that fits you but when you find one it just that much more satisfying than doujins or h-anime for me.

Since I started playing scenario-ge I progressively abandoned pure moege. I just feel they don't offer much. Nukige on the other hand have the advantage on doujins that they are voiced, although most of them sucks, some are quite refined and even have a somewhat elaborate story.

You mean a game with NTR scenes but not an NTR end, right? In that case you're the same as me, and you're doomed to not find much of what you want. There are plenty of games with rape (which I don't particularly like even if they pass it as NTR type C, I'm more of a type A or B) and good ends, but it's very hard to find a game with NTR and good ends.
Some will have a non-ntr route that will lead to a good end, which sucks.
One game that comes to mind which fits our criteria would be Djibril (I've only played 4 and sengoku) which features both good and ntr ends with ntr in both of them. If you wanted a non-nukige, I'm afraid nothing comes to mind.
It's a difficult world to live in, I can feel your pain.

Isn't that one of the plugins you can get too where your defense and attack go up at low health? Are you sure you can't damage him after that point? Did you try that plugin yourself too against him? Can you still armor break him at that point? Did you make sure to use all the high hitting melee moves at max level?

That plugin works at 1/10, not 1/5, of the TOTAL HP, not the final gauge.
My entire strategy revolved around armor breaking him and beating him while he's down, primarily with point-blank shotgun shots. It worked fine up to that point, and then he just stopped taking damage.

By the way I noticed they changed the way quartz and arts work in Sen. Before each quartz had elemental values and all the values got added up within each line to give you arts you could use. Now it looks like each quartz give either stat boosts or a single spell/art. What do lines even matter anymore? I read through the manual and in-game tutorial but I don't think I saw anything mentioned about it
