Name one VN that rises above mediocrity.

Oh wait, none exist.

Such mediocre VNs are suitable for a mediocre person such as me.

What do you expect, VNs are just longbreathed anime-stories. And the most famous ones are just nakige shit.

Name one VN that has surmounted the insurmountable wall of the eroge medium.

Name one thing from Japan that rises above mediocrity.

Oh wait, none exist.

Why are people even playing VNs? It's the same as LNs - you are better off reading an actual book. Well, in the case of VNs you may be better off playing an actual video game instead. There is really no point to both VNs and LNs.

Reading a VN is akin to reading one of those pop-out disney books with the 3d cardboard pictures that come out of the pages.

I mean, I love it, but it's not really anything to be taken seriously.

You don't read for fun? I read to entertain myself. Sometimes I feel like reading something with a fun story and cute characters. I don't see the problem.

>> No.11474796

People who read VNs like their story to be accompanied by voices and images. Books aren't. Video games generally have less story.

Fair point. So it's genuinely an infantile pastime for manchildren.

>>11474794
You can read for fun an actual book. If you can have fun _only_ with a VN/LN then the problem lies within you. There are many many books with fun stories and cute characters.

>>11474796
The images are really scarce and the voicing is often mediocre at best. In any case, imagination can produce far better results.

There are many video games that can take more than 100 hours to complete. Some of them can never be completed even, like MMOs and such. Usually they have a vast world with a lot of story and interesting characters too.

There is really zero reasons to play VNs or read LNs.

So you don't sometimes watch brainless anime? Books, tv, movies they are all the same. Sometimes you feel like reading something deep and sometimes you feel like reading something simple. I never said I don't have fun reading books. Don't you dare take words out of my mouth asshole. I spend most of my days reading. I will destroy you. Are you one of the people left over from the raid?

Your imagination can produce a fantastic, beautiful landscape, but that doesn't stop people from looking at landscape paintings.

>There are many video games that can take more than 100 hours to complete. Some of them can never be completed even, like MMOs and such. Usually they have a vast world with a lot of story and interesting characters too.
Many MMOs have mediocre stories. If you want a vast world, gameplay, and quests, you should be playing a MMO or some other game, not a VN - but that's not what people play VNs for.

>There is really zero reasons to play VNs or read LNs.
Enjoyment.
