Starbucks & Monster sometimes. This must be how it feels to be those kids who come in the tea thread and say they drink Lipton.

I'm not trolling (probably the worst way to start this but w/e) but why?

I admit I've never tried it but I can't imagine why you would want to add a metallic can taste to some cold coffee. Is it an acquired taste or did you enjoy it from the first sip?

I know a lot of people just drink coffee for the caffeine so I'm genuinely curious if you guys really enjoyed the taste of these cans from the start or if just kind of got used to them by consuming them on a regular basis?

As far as I know the flavors vary a lot. It's not all just black coffee or coffee flavored. Same way people drink the canned Starbucks drinks that taste like sugar.

I never used to be a coffee drinker, I acquired the taste, but I've never really liked hot drinks. When I make coffee, I make it cold brewed.

Then I discovered canned coffee and bought a few cans from an Asian supermarket. Since then I've bought various kinds from importers and wholesalers online.

It's also cool how Japan has vending machines for these, both hot and cold. I never understand why this has never took off in the West. Probably because coffee shops want to keep their monopoly on coffee (though you can get Starbucks cans, which aren't very nice).

>I acquired the taste
You mean, you didn't like coffee until you added a bunch of cream and sugar? Canned coffee is mostly sugar and fat with coffee as an afterthought.
Please take this pleb shit to another board like /a/, canned coffee is not otaku culture worthy of /jp/.

Thanks for the responses. I'm a pretty traditional coffee drinker (fresh brewed black) so I didn't if these were just a convenience gimmick or if people actually enjoyed them.

Probably because unattended vending machines would get vandalised. There used to be a drinks vending machine outside one of my local shops for use when it was closed but some assholes kept smashing it up trying to get the to drinks and money inside. The shop owner had to remove it. Why are some people such dicks? Being able to buy a can of drink while out for a late night walk was something I enjoyed.

It's a nice thought experiment. I think mostly in the places where there are a lot of vending machines (hospital, airport, office building) there's usually a coffee joint near if not inside the building.

What brands are there anyway? Starbucks, Seattle's Best, illy, and Cafe Bustelo(which I barely see). It's probably a combination of soda being way more popular and kid-friendly. Which is totally stupid, but the amount of parents who give their kids Soda but would gasp at the thought of giving them coffee is astounding.

I like the low calorie/low sugar versions. They're much lighter and less syrupy. The regular ones can make me feel bad from all that sickening sweetness.

I know of a few vending machines that sell canned ice coffee here in the US.

>> No.11446752

Never found a black canned coffee that I liked, they were all too sour for me. The ones with milk and sugar are usually a bit sweet, but the serving size is so small that I still enjoy them once in a while. I usually end up drinking emerald mountain, since that's what my company vending machine had for 100y but I also like wonda morning shot and boss rainbow mountain.

Do those cup-coffee things from convenience stores count? I like this one:
http://www.agf.co.jp/triplesso/
It is still a bit too sweet and the milk they use is really rich, but I found the balance better than standard canned coffee somehow. Maybe because the milk, sugar AND coffee portions were all a little on the strong side.

I've only ever had FCC from Japan. I liked it a lot but the cans were quite small for the price, which obviously had to be shipped.

Locally the US, at least where I live, there isn't really much domestically because I guess canned coffee just isn't big here; people would rather shove energy poison down their throats through Monster and Rockstar stuff. But my local cimmunity college does have a decent brand called Columbus something or other. I like the mocha flavor over the vanilla. Very good cold canned coffee. Expensive though and I haven't found them anywhere else.

Pic is how happy I am when I find actual good canned coffee in the area.

All canned coffee tastes the same, llike cold can coffee. Its okay, its not bad or anything.

I just preffer expresso and other hot coffees.
I like a few brands that have strong flavor, not any of that sour or watery shit coffee. Illy, Cafe rico, and segafredo are pretty good.

I also really like the nespresso one you just pour in hot water and drink fast without much effort. People say its shitty but I think it tastes great, you just need to add two packets instead of one per cup of coffee.
