Holy crackers. I've played that game since it was just international edition and had only two servers.

The game was fun. But the community was awful. If you didn't know how the glitches work ( which was what K-style was based on; glitches ) you were consider a noob or a "sprayer" because you played the game as it was meant to be played.

I finally quit playing ever since the hackers took over. I'm not sure if I would play GunZ 2.

But then ijji took over and implemented the cash shop. The community wasnt thebest before that point, but on ijji it took a nosedive. never played again.

on igunz i was in a really cool guild. one of the people there took the quest map files from the korean version and hosted games just for our guild within those maps (questss were not implemented in igunz). most of them were missing their original textures too. and of course we messed around with hax when we weren't playing seriously. but damn the stories i remember of us bring back good memeories.

and the k-style, d-style, sprayer drama was hilarious. i was always laughing.

data says cap was taken aug 06. started playing a year earlier though. when it first opened. also just noticed what was said in the chat. weird how i didnt see that before for so many years.

I have this problem, it's so stressful being around a bunch of people in an MMO. The thought of being in some large party and working together with people (god help me if I have to get on Vent or whatever) sounds terrifying so I've never done it. Thankfully this Wurm game I've been playing lets me just live by myself and some farm animals on this PvE server. There's no one around me and it feels nice, sometimes people pass by on boats or my far away neighbours come by but its not all that bad since they leave after a couple of seconds. It's kind of repetitive and boring but eh, it's something to do.

A guy I know was playing FFXIV and showing me all these screenshots of the area he was in and it had so many people in it! And he was playing with his friends too. I don't get how people can't be stressed out by it.

I was playing GW2 but it's kind of boring once you've seen all of these (not very many) dungeons.
As far as grinding goes, it's grinding: the game.
Only positive thing about it is you're grinding for cosmetic/aesthetic things, not actual stats.
Didn't really feel like doing the same dungeon a million times for a weapon skin.
Also pvp was ass

I joined a guild once years ago and they wanted me to go on to a vent server but I never spoke to they kicked me.

I miss the best parts of the game, like group events, socialising and end game because I'm so autistic.

Are there any games that aren't about combat? I mean, if you're clicking to bake cakes or deliver wine, that's just the same as combat, right?

A lot of games have stuff like this tacked on, but I really mean something like MundaneQuest, the fantasy game where you play a guy trying to work his way from NEET to maybe a dude who has a job or something. MUDs are like this, I don't get why graphical MMOs can't be.

Don't belong to a guild that operates like that. You're eventually going to get kicked, anyway, when they decide that you're a threat to their hegemony. My experience with /jp/ guilds is pretty positive. Everyone is usually nice and happy to help. The only people I don't like are the ones that talk too much and the loud obnoxious guys. I guess the people that try to ERP can be pretty bad too. As long as everyone can take it easy everything's okay.

The best /jp/sies are the quiet passive ones. They never say anything, but play a lot and are decent at the game. The only bad thing about them is they're too shy to ask for groups. Someone needs to take the initiative and say, "Hey! We're going to level together!" Then the other shy /jp/sie will happily follow. Unless he just want to take it easy and be left alone, then the other guy ends up being annoying ;_;

Anyway, /jp/ guilds are nice if the majority is made up of random /jp/ anons who just want to play an mmo. Circlejerks tend to kill guilds.

It looks like mmo threads on /jp/ are okay again. It's too bad there's not a new mmo worth playing right now. I think FFXIV would be great, but the majority of /jp/ refuses to pay money to play an mmo. Even though some of them spend hundreds of dollars in f2p cash shop mmo's *cough* Cosmic Break.

I really agree, curis are fucked. I miss being able to advance in the game by actually doing things rather than checking in twice a day to reset some timers, and only getting the chance to do something so often a week, due to lack of lp. It didn't even solve the deforestation problem, which was one of the main reasons they implemented this system in the first place.

I think I remember a /jp/ village back in world 4, and I know a couple of people did play with each other after that too.

World 7 just started a few months ago, so the world isn't entirely sliced up between major factions like the last one was yet, it would be a good time to pick it back up if you wanted a modest time sink. It would be nice to hermit with /jp/, a village requires too much communication, and autism would spark fights over someone stunting a tree farm and things, but living near one another and trading curis/food could be pretty fun, I think.

They added new game modes like encounter (two teams fight for one flag) and assault (one team defends their flag and the other attacks it). These two additional modes can be disabled in your settings. But it's still the same deal, you press BATTLE and you get put into a random match. And 3-man platoons no longer require a premium account.

Another thing I must mentioned, they made a HUGE improvement to the accuracy of all guns. See image for visualization.

That's kind of nice, when I was playing the whole turret was pretty much made out of butter, so that'll be an improvement. Though if they've given any real purpose to light tanks, or the new mediums they've added since I quit are worth anything, I probably won't go heavy in any real hurry this time.

I thought everyone got the hint with recent content, they're not going to do much more until at least TERA 2 which would be an entire different thing, they'll just keep adding recycled Lineage 2 ripoff content and shitty dungeons and expect people to be stupid enough to believe they're even being original in any way. You get one weapon that'll get you to 60 fine. The gold you get from leveling 58-60 will be enough to get your skills, and if you're lucky, some shitty tier 13 enigmatic gear. The gap between decent endgame gear and the crap gear you could actually afford or get from drops is gigantic. And if you haven't even played the class, let alone the game at all, you'll have a hard time doing any dungeon to farm decent money.

If you were just referring to what I said about warrior tanks, then I'll elaborate on that. Lancers have way way more room for error and are better at generating threat, something you'll need if you're new. Warriors have a ton of skills and debuffs they need to use as well as managing their resolve (lancers don't have to bother with resolve regeneration because they only use it for blocks, warriors use resolve for dodges and blocking) to not die. They also can't absorb damage like lancers can so you have to be on-the-ball about evading every hit. They're difficult to master, especially if you weren't practicing tanking with them throughout the game where you get skills gradually.

The T11 gear? Sorry, unless there's some other thing not listed in the sticky, that's awful and not even close to being useful endgame. I doubt you could even get into endgame instances with that.

T13+9 is pretty much required for anything at a bare minimum unless you're a healer.

Which actually makes this instant leveling this pretty retarded. Pre-50 is great fun and post-50 is when the game turns to shit. Though even pre-50 might be shit now due to the BAM nerf, haven't gone back to check.

I'd love a game with good maps for exploring. RO wasn't too fancy, but the music and the amount of maps made exploring so enjoyable. I'd just log into any of my shit characters that never had any good gear because I was so bad at the game, prepare a lot of Fly Wings, and then just walk and walk and walk some more.

SWGEMU is excellent if you like exploring. There's a scout class that specializes in traversing difficult terrain and roughing it out in the wilderness. The planets are fucking huge to boot, makes me jealous that I missed out on the glory days.

If you play TERA the way it's intended to be played, it's completely linear and not much fun to explore at all. It looks nice and all, but you're just supposed to rush in a straight path through it all.

Some people enjoyed just trying to climb stuff, though. You're not supposed to do this, but there's a lot of terrain that you can climb even though it looks impassable. You can even discover a whole city that hasn't been implemented yet and isn't supposed to be reachable.

Dragon's Nest looks pretty neat. I remember playing it back at NA launch as an Archer which was ok but none of the classes really fit. Kali looks like it's the niche I was searching for so I'm probably going to give this a shot. If there's any experienced players here how's the PVP?
