And yes good translations are actually rewrite, you'd know that if you knew more than one language.

Translating is more than replacing A by B, a language is more than a simple sum of words.
A word in Japanese for example may encompass a concept that doesn't exist per se in english for example, basically a language is the sum of the lives and custom of a set of people.
Being faithful to the original while keeping a good flow and be nice to read is an incredibly hard task if you want to do it well.

1) There was more porn. There are relatively few scenes given the length of the VN.
2) They hadn't spent -so- much time on everything else. Nukiges are sex first, plot second. There was a significant amount of time and effort put into forest that had nothing to do with setting up sex. The length of the non-ero story is what distinguishes it from a nukige.

This is like calling Katahane a nukige. Did it set things up for sex? Yes. Is that all it was about? No.
